Many ways they can improve. Graphics are great but the story line was a little lame. Felt lost and clueless quite often. I keep in mind that the first Nancy Drew game was quite lame as well. And look how GREAT they are now. There is hope for the Hardy Boys. I would suggest playing just so you can get use to the tools and game format.

If you're even looking at this, you probably remember the heyday of LucasArts point-and-click adventures. So to that I say, "How appropriate; you fight like a cow."

Telltale Games has taken over the reigns of Sam & Max, which is great because LucasArts is trapped in the uninspired quagmire that is Star Wars. Monkey Island, Sam & Max, and Day of the Tentacle are some of the funniest and most original games ever to be produced and I'm just happy that Telltale was able to pry the cold, dead hand of LucasArts away from at least one of these franchises.

How did Telltale do? I think they certainly captured the flavor of the original game - the chaotic spirit of that masochistic lagomorph and the hilariously hyperbolic idioms that spout forth from the noir-inspired ... Read More

As far as hidden object games go, this one is pretty good; however, I was disappointed that The Adventure Company chose to use this format for its 4th release. Be advised that you can find this exact game on many websites to download, such as [...] or Yahoo, and that it has been out for several months on the internet so don't buy a second copy of it.

Another disadvantage of the hidden object format is that it's really easy to ignore the story (although the "solution" to DOTN is fairly well known) so there isn't much motivation to interview the characters or complete the bonus rounds.

If you haven't tried any other Agatha Christie games, I would recommend "Evil Under the Sun" instead, where you actually are trying to solve the mystery and act as Hercule Poirot himself.

Every puzzle takes time to decipher, unravel and unlock.

So are the intricate twists and often-times red-herrings of this game. Those that dismiss it are looking for a quick answer. But true fans of the mystery genre rely on wit, observation and listening. All the facts are there. It is up to you to discover them.

There are four endings to the game based on what you do within. Follow the book, and you just might be right. Follow your instinct, and see where it takes you.

With that said, I must admit I have not fully solved the game yet. Neither have I resorted to reading "cheats on the Internet". But I continue to press on in search of the fiend. If you buy this game, be prepared to be challenged. And let your brain, not the Internet, help guide you to the ... Read More

I wanted to love this game and I more or less enjoyed the prior adventure, Sherlock Holmes the Awakened. This particular adventure pits Holmes against a French master-thief, Arsene Lupin, who plans to regain the honor of his country by stealing a variety of English treasures.

The graphics are much as they were for the prior game but what is interesting is the detail given to the actual historic sights. I've been to the Tower of London and it was amusing to see it in the game modeled with great attention to the layout of the place. But the graphics are hardly crisp and the human characters a bit blocky.

The voice-actors for Holmes and Watson are well done and the game captures the 'feeling' of Holmes quite well. Other voice-actors tend to be stilted and at times remind me of ... Read More

what can i say that hasn't already be said, long install, too much dialogue, cartoony graphics, nice story and voice acting, i knew nothing about this game going in and was pleasently surprised at the get-go. Those of you that ahve given this game a "bad" review just has too high expecttations - kinda like i did with runaway 2 - what a disappointment that was. this game is different than many adventure games - more of a interactive cartoon story. so if you think you'd like that- get this game, if not avoid.
