The expansion is very well done. The new content is inventive, engaging, and very well produced. So why only 2 stars? The new instances and raid content are way too easy. Blizzard didn't just dumb this game down, they emasculated it.

The extra doodads that come with the Collector's Edition are nice, but a month from now, will you really still want that Frostwyrm in-game pet, or that mousepad? Will you actually read the strategy guide after day one? I flipped through the original and TBC guides that came with the World of Warcraft Battlechest, and they helped me learn the basics of the game, but there's nothing in there that benefits my everyday gameplay; the Internet offers more comprehensive information, more quickly, than the books.

If you want a few new toys and a stylish box, buy the Collector's Edition. If you just want to play the game, buy the regular edition. If you're new to World of Warcraft, don't bother with Wrath of the Lich King just yet. Get the Battlechest (includes the original game, The ... Read More

If you play the game regularly, sure it's convenient to sign up with the bliz plans. But, why pay the tax bliz charges when you can pay the same rate (or better, if you normally go shorter plans) by getting this from Amazon? Always makes a great gift, and never spoils in the mail.

Plus, with the recent release of the expansion (Wrath of the Lich King), your gamer may need a few of these.

I have played this game for around two years and have multiple level 70 characters and thoroughly enjoy it. However the game is broken (as of october 2008) and unplayable at the moment due to horrendous lag issues and server shut downs. Check out the forums for more information, well no information really, but you'll see the scale of the problem:

My advice is avoid this game and the new expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King like the plague until the game becomes playable again. Just thought I'd save you some dollars and whole bunch of frustration.

I saw other posted similair reviews to what I'm about to post.

If you're looking at getting into this game, avoid it for now. There are several other mmorpgs coming out that I'm considering picking up now. When I first started playing this game two years ago it was fun, challenging, and custormer service was good. As of November 2008, the realms are down daily, the patches have made the game easier and easier (Quest objects sparkle from across the map, instead of actually having to LOOK for them), classes are unbalanced (they constantly nerf and buff classes with each patch), and customer service is horrible...not providing real answers to thier customers.

Overall, Blizzard has finally come to understand that so many people play this game and will continue to play. Despite being treated like crap ... Read More

Warcraft 3 is the best. I've been playing it forever and I lost my copy, so I bought the Battle Chest instead. I didn't realize it came with a players guide, so that was cool. DOTA RULEZ

I love the Diablo series because of its easy playability. It's just your basic dungeon crawler. It doesn't require you to sit in front of it for hours or to play straight through. I mean, it is hours & hours of play time, but you can walk away for a week and not have a problem picking up where you left off. Also, you can create different characters of each class and enjoy the game all over again because of the different play style each has and because the map changes.

Downsides:

You can't just log off in the middle of the dungeon as next time, you will be logged on in town and have to fight your way back through to the dungeon and to the place you left off. Monsters respawn when you log out.

I think the interface could be done a little better. I like to play solely with my mouse. ... Read More

This is a very awesome game. You do, need to be carefully, of too much play. It is a virtual reality game with, it seems, never ending realms. You can chat and also play the game which is not too bad. I am 45 and female and it takes a little time to learn but wow lol WOW it is a WOW game lol for a chat / combat game. You need to try it before you knock it......
