I was also unable to get Kid Pix 3 to work on XP. After searching the internet, we found a way that was supposed to make it compatible. We followed every direction to make this thing work. It did end up finally loading, but then it would crash. Finally we found a tech support number. First we were told that there was only support on the web for KP3, but the website directs us back to call for support. We were bounced us back and forth and back and forth to different departments. NO ONE wanted to take responsibility to help us (Broderbund is notorious for this). They only gave tech support if we had Kid Pix 4! What a runaround!!! This took a 30-year-old mom and her 13-year-old son approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete. We are extremely proud of ourselves, despite being a bit chagrined at having kicked out the actual 2nd grader for whom it was bought. She lost 30 points from my character, which just could not be allowed. It really is very educational and challenging for the grade level. Aside from the many trap door pitfalls, there are also math and language arts hurdles to jump, swing, or run through. My son and I recommend this game for people of any age to brush up on basic skills, and if my daughter ever gets it out of our clutches and has a chance to play, I'm sure she'll agree.

This software takes your kids on an adventure where they have to solve math problems of various types to gather information from the local people. It is well thought out and the kids love it because it doesn't feel like drill work for Math skills. There are prompts if you get stuck and lots of encouragement. A must have for your 9-12 year olds!

I just bought this and I recommend this highly to parents of preschoolers. I feel safe knowing I can walk away from the computer and my daughter is not only having fun but learning too.

5.Dr. Seuss' ABCs from: Learning Company

By far the best kids program I have seen, and I have looked at quite a few. Old? Yes...and it shows...in a good way. You don't see the same level of quality and attention to detail in programming of modern kids edutainment titles. Plays on XP fine, and has a seemingly infinite amount of replayability. Voice acting is top notch. I rarely if ever say something is perfect, but I really cannot think of one negative about this title.

I have played a lot of other Barbie games and so I got this one since it had some good reviews. I found this game pretty boring and very easy though I think I'm a bit older than the age it is supposed to be geared for. My younger sister who is the right age did not find the game interesting but she has liked other barbie games such as Barbie diaries: High School Mystery, and Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper which are fun games were you can dress up barbie and make her do all the sorts of dress up things most little girls like to do.

This is yet another classic by the Carmen Sandiego line. This was the best of them all, and your kids will not stop playing it! It is more educational that I first expected, and has everything from grammar to spelling. A good buy for your money. Sorry, a great buy for your money!

I found this CD Rom worth the buy. Doesn't have tons of games with tons of levels, but has very interesting ways to teach children time, geography, left from right, seasons, and a few other things! Just a great buy and I am all about teaching. Anything that is fun and teaches cant be bad and this was definitely worth the buy. It teaches things you just dont find on other games.

I loaded this software on 4 different computers and it would not run. I believe it is because it a very old software and will not run on XP but I'm not sure. In past years this has been a very reliable company (Broderbund) but if they are not going to support the software they should not be selling it.
