This is a great dvd for first timers. Some of the moves should have more reps to be a bit more of a challenge. Since she demonstrates each move before you are supposed to do it, once you learn them you can do the extra reps on your own. I think this is best for beginners and those who can't do low or high impact workouts.

Wow, what a workout. It's all the basic pilates exercises, but w/ a twist. It's very challenging & you will definitely work up a sweat. I usually skip the very beginning until when she starts the hundred. It really pushes you so by the end, I usually screaming at her.

This is one of my favorite pilates dvds. It has sooo many interesting and fun moves that you don't even feel like you are working out! I look forward to doing it regularly. The background is beautiful, Hilary's voice is soothing and the work out will kick your butt. You will get into positions that you haven't since elementary school. I feel more flexible than my 13 year old daughter! You will be amazed at your core strength. LOVE it! I would buy ANY new dvd that she comes out with...I trust her.

I was dissapointed with this DVD. I got it because I have another work out video by Michelle which I love and it is my all-time favorite, I thought this one would be as good, but it is not. The pilates section is too short and it does not have enough sets, I have to pause it in order to get more repetitions in and actually get a work out. Just like another reviewer said, it is also hard to do the work out and view the dvd at the same time, I guess it'll take a few times to memorize the move and then you can do it without watching. I didn't care for the yoga, I don't feel anything, not even stretching my muscles. The ballet is ok, but I've never done any dancing of any sort, so I wouldn't know if it's good or not, and it's a bit challenging to stand on my toes at times, but not enough to feel like my calfs ... I feel absolutely WONDERFUL after doing this video! The stretching is so deep and thorough. This video leaves me so relaxed and untensed. This will be my cool down stretch after my workout every day.

If you have done much of Ana Caban's videos, then this DVD will not be a shock to your system. I never did the "Pilates Beginners Workout" (my first Caban video was quick start pilates...), so I'm not sure how well this DVD works as a follow up to that beginner routine. However, as a stand alone workout it is very challenging. I would compare it in difficulty to her Maintenance Pilates DVD (if you've done that). There are a few different exercises that I haven't seen in other Caban Videos (the swimming, for example), and she also does some of the commentary live (as opposed to via voice over), and explains a few things differently than in her other videos. Also, I'm not sure exactly when this was filmed, but it has a very 90s feel (especially some of the camera effects), so it's kind of amusing ... Read More

I bought this tape thinking it would be too easy for me but it turns out that it was a bit of a challenge. If you haven't worked out in a while and aren't that flexible then this tape will give you a bit of a workout. If you are an excersise buff then don't even bother with it. It got mailed to me fast too. I would definitely buy from this vendor again.
