There is probably problems with licensing parts of the Soundtrack... One Part in particular ~ The Dead Kennedy's song playing while they are all in the Kitchen... Holiday in Cambodia. There have been lawsuits over this song between band members and Jello Biafra when Levi's wanted to use it in a commercial. Royalty payment disputes and the like. It has probably killed any chance of getting this film released on DVD.

What were they thinking? Perhaps director Garry Marshall thought he could do for S&M what he'd done for the women of the evening in Pretty Woman. Wrap up an edgy topic in a big cute bow, and through humor make it palatable, even entertaining, to the masses. But you thought wrong Mr. Marshall. Actually, it is a surprisingly entertaining movie, it is just that most of the humor is unintentional. You can't believe the movie got green lighted when it was so obviously doomed to be a disaster.

They took a novel by Anne Rice, written under the pseudonym of Anne Rampling (a name she chose as a tribute to actress Charlotte Rampling) and then they grafted on a totally gratuitous story about international jewell thieves and the cops (played by Dan Akroyd and Rosie O'Donnell??? and no, I am ... Never before has there been a comedy with this much heart and soul.Chris Farley plays the son of an expert auto parts salesman, whos passing leaves the family business in jeopardy of being sold.Farley suits up with his number crunching friend (David Spade) and together they set out across the country to sell enough brakepads to save the day, what follows is pure comedic genius. From a college triumph to an unforgettable plane ride, and from highway hijinks to one hilarious sales pitch after another, this film is undoubtedly Farley's greatest work and a comedy masterpiece.Having been practically raised on this movie,I can honestly say that it has brought years of laughter for me and my family and that I highly recommend this film.Though the big guy is not with us anymore,he still lives on in this brilliant film which I hope will ... I remember bawling myself silly over this movie as a child. When I was given it as a gift and watched it, guess what? More bawling. And yet I was still truly touched by the magic and heart of this moving little story as well as its quirkiness and observations of human lives. This is the tale of a young girl who of all things has grown up in the home of a funeral director... which means lots of dead bodies in the basement. Thus is the setting of a quirky and moving little story with plenty of wonderful acting and great humor. It must be watched with tissues, if you are anything like me, but it is worth it.

This was on our 21 year old daughter's Christmas wish list. She was delighted since it reminded her of her childhood. She also likes Anne of Avonlea as well as Pride and Prejudice. This is very enjoyable for girls.
