I love this series so much, I could watch it over and over again. This video has alot of good episodes, I love the first one. Once again I am waiting for them to come out with the real whole season on complete dvd collection!! Be aware of some sites selling this season on dvd, they have just recorded the season and burned it from a vhs or tv, they are not of good quality. This is definitly a show you would want to own!

This is another great show from the 1980's. More creepy than scary, and usually having a moral to the story at the end. I enjoyed this one back then--also "Amazing Stories" and "Tales From the Crypt" (which is a lot more graphic and scary). "Tales From the Darkside" was simpler, usually with few FX and a simple set, however, the stories themselves were interesting and original.

I used to love watching "Tales from the Darkside" when it premiered back in the 1980s. I thought it was even scarrier and creepier than "The Twilight Zone" (although it clearly owes much to the Rod Serling's creation). The episodes are rather hit-or-miss. Some are thought provoking; other episodes are banal. This volume features some good episodes. "The Devil's Advocate" is a lesson to be learned for our modern day radio loud-mouths everywhere. "The Satanic Piano" has a great message; and while "Choice of Dreams" goes nowhere, it's interesting to see the great (not so late)Abe Vigoda use his "Godfather" experience to portray a ruthless gangster. The quality of these "Darkside" tapes is not at all good, so caution to those of who prize audio/visual quality. ... Read More

I was looking for this movie for a long time. I was thrilled when I finally found it on Amazon. I also remember watching the TV series back in the 80's. A young boy reads stories from a book to distract a witch who plans to eat him. This film has the very handsome, young Christian Slater; Deborah Harry from the 80's rock band Blonde; Steve Buscemi who played Mr. Pink in "Reservoir Dogs"; Rae Dawn Chong who also starred in "Quest for Fire"(another great film) and many other great actors. If you enjoyed "Twilight Zone: The Movie," you will definitely enjoy this film.

This is one of the best tapes of the series, my son really loves the black widows.....I really wish they would come out with the complete season on dvd. You can get them from people who put them on dvd's and try to sell them, but be careful the dvd is NOT of good quality!!
