VHS : Night Walker
With Halloween just around the corner...I know, it's over a month away! I just can't wait to start watching lots of good horror and sci-fi films, so I'm jumping the gun. I was hoping to see this released on DVD this year, but I haven't heard anything yet. This is a classic old ghost story / mystery with lots of creepy atmosphere. Black and white, lots of creepy noises, ghost and fog. From Dr Shock to all my horror buddies, look for this one on cable (hopefully), its a good starter for the season! Please release this on DVD!

2.I Saw What You Did starring: Joan Crawford, John Ireland, Leif Erickson, Sara Lane, Andi Garrett

VHS : I Saw What You Did
The DVD includes the original trailer as well as a brief promo that Vincent Castle did for the movie. "I Saw What You Did" shows what happens when you make too many prank phone calls! I love this movie because it's so funny. These kids in this film are so totally silly. And everyone was so polite. What's up with that? Were people really like this in the 1960's? As usual Joan was perfect. My favorite scene was the one where she went nuts on Libby and chased her all the way back to the car. It was so funny, I thought Joan was going to have a heart attack. Rock on.

VHS : House on Haunted Hill
The House on Haunted Hill is a masterpiece. Plain and simple. Vincent Price has more talent in his little toe then any of the horror films that were produced from 2000 and on. It's one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Its also a public movie, meaning there is at least five copies of this film floating around. I got it on a horror set and the quality to the film was pretty good. If you love horror/thriller films, not just ones with gore and crappy acting, then check out this movie. The trailer to this film is perfect as well.

4.Tingler starring: Vincent Price, Judith Evelyn, Darryl Hickman, Patricia Cutts, Pamela Lincoln

VHS : Tingler
Bill Castle's 1959 scream flick "The Tingler" is a brilliant pick for your Halloween party. It has everything you want to make you scream- including Vinny Price's voice commands, towards the end, to scream. (This film, perhaps my favorite Castle production, was producer Castle's next horror project after "The House on Haunted Hill"...also very scary.)

You'll want to watch this cult movie classic in the dark... turn out all your lights, grab some popcorn, and prepare to scream! The tingler monster is totally cool (with tentacles, lobster-like body, and cute lead wires)! The wide-eyed, screaming voice, tingler-chasing acting is brilliant (the actors certainly had fun making this one) and frightening.

The motion picture presents in monochromic black and white, except for the bright ... Read More

VHS : Rosemary's Baby
All the acting is great in this film but I watch it to watch John Cassavetes performance. His character as expectant dad and Rosemary's husband is one I love to hate and be attracted to at the same time.
Cassavetes is able to show a man filled to the brim with lies and how the lies take over his whole body, the way at almost every moment he is pretending to be motivated by protective impulse while his body movement shows he is not filled with love but everything vile.

6.Bug starring: Bradford Dillman, Joanna Miles, Richard Gilliland, Jamie Smith-Jackson, Alan Fudge

VHS : Bug
Yes, this 70's killer bug movie was filmed in the Brady houshold after they moved out. The fact that this is a "Made-for-t.v." movie didn't deter me from buying it, as a matter of fact, I love these schlocker's from this time period. It's been reviewed very well, and I just wanted to add that it's loads of fun. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore.

VHS : Strait Jacket (1962)
Low budget, B-grade slasher flick complete with cheesy special effects, heads-a-rolling, a transparent inplausible plot, and lots of screaming. At the end of Crawford's career she was clearly taking roles that she normally would not have bothered with, so even though many people rated this film highly, I think it's sad to see her in a movie like this, even though her performance is gutsy and interesting to watch. It's also pretty neat to see actors so early in their careers, like Lee Majors and George Kennedy. Best scene in the film: when the shrink from the asylum drops by for a visit and Crawford spontaneously lights a match on the turntable WHILE the record is playing (it reminds me of when Jack Lemmon strikes the match on his teeth in The Great Race). Not many actors could pull that off on camera, and it was perfectly in keeping with ... Read More
