VHS : Halloween 5
*Some Spoilers!!*
When I began watching Halloween 5, I was convinced that it was going to save the world from part 4 and help to redeem the series...and I wasen't very displeased...until the closing act...

Who the hell was the partially invisible trench coat man with the brief case, the Man in Black? Without sitting threw the equally terrible, "Curse of Michael Myers", no one would ever have any idea who or what he is...

I mean, did the world of film go stupid for a second and just forget about explaining that piece of the plot? Or were they just so desperate to figure out a new way to get Micheal "out of jail" (like he could have been "jailed") that they created this random character for that part alone...

This was a piece of trash just like its ... Read More

VHS : They Live
This delightfully eerie movie demonstrates that great films are not necessarily pretentious; world-class art can appeal to regular folks; you needn't read John Taylor Gatto to lean the truth about 'Education;" and although you could study "alternative economic history" for months on end at the Yamaguchy website, Mary E. Hobart and David Astle aren't the only reality gurus who can clue you in to what's really going down here on the third stone from the sun. Not at all! John Carpenter manages to do just that in his 95 minute "B-Movie" masterpiece, 'They Live!"

So read the other reviews, form your own opinions, but by all means be sure to see "They Live." And if you are an "art snob" or one of those people who seek cultural justification for pursuing the enjoyable, then consider that what ... Read More

HAPPY THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY, MICHAEL MYERS!!!

"Halloween II" is one of the best sequels ever made in horror history. It begins exactly where the first one ended - Michael Myers is shot and falls from the balcony. Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasance reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Dr. Sam Loomis. John Carpenter and Debra Hill wrote the suspenseful script and Rick Rosenthal provided great direction. The eerie trademark soundtrack from the original is also used in this superb sequel.

If you enjoy a high body count, you will enjoy "Halloween II." Michael Myers pursues Laurie Strode to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital; he begins dispatching the entire staff within its sanitized, claustrophobic corridors. In this sequel, we learn why Michael Myers is intent on ... Read More

This movie is like so tense.I dont know what it was when i was watching it that made me feel freaked out.Since i am 22 it was a good scare but a evil demonic force was what i was feeling while watching this movie.I turned it off at the part where he was like trying to fight his demons from destroying him.It was so bad that the demon had full possession of his soul by making him get levitated in the walls. To the ceiling and he has no choice but to let it take full control over him and do bad things that will harm and endanger other people.Anyways the demon was creepy looking.I think this movie is kind of related to the poltergeist with Carole Anne. But this movie is about Cameron.I think basically this movie got a real twist and gives me the creeps.

4 WAS BAD...
5 WAS TERRIBLE...
but THIS?!

This is on a whole new scale of wrong...

The true Halloween was a story about Micheal killing people, BUT mainly after Jaimie Lee Curtis...
The true Halloween movies star Jaimie Lee...(1, 2, H20, Resurrection)
The True Halloween movies don't have a "dark satanic cult" in them...(i mean...and gang of evil druids...really people?)
The True Halloween movies don't have some insane, half mute, little girl who grows up and gets raped by Micheal Myers so that he can have a child to sacrifice to said "satanic cult"...
and don't even get me started on the "Man in Black" stuff...

It was a monotonous conclusion to a "trilogy" of "sub-plot" films that should have never entered the world or Micheal Myers and his ... Read More

Money is the only reason that movies like this, with tenuous links to the sub-par horror series anyway, they slap the "Amityville" name to any "Haunted House" story and we,yes even me, buy or rent them and keep this whole string awful films running. Very poor story!

VHS : Vampires (1998)
This is a great vampire movie with a good balance of suspense and blood. Some stories in the genre are too heavy on the character's personal stories and light on the gore, or vice versa, but not this well written horror. James Woods is a 'suave' and savvy vampire killer who lets his guard down with the most ruthless head vampire he's ever encountered. He finds out too late he's been double crossed...the blood suckers knew he was coming...but who is the traitor amongst the day walkers and why? Worthy of a space on my 'favorite horror' flicks shelf.

She can't (and won't) drive 55.... Stephen King's novel about the twisted love affair between a boy and his car gets transferred to the screen, courtesy of suspense master John Carpenter. Although lacking some of the more outré supernatural elements of the source material, this high-octane cinematic tune-up more than delivers the goods, horror-wise (Christine's midnight rampages will never be forgotten)--as well as being a sly exposé of the random cruelties within the high-school pecking order. Keith Gordon (who has gone on to become a stellar director in his own right, with films such as A Midnight Clear and Mother Night to his credit) gives a wonderfully controlled central performance.

Keith Gordon makes the most of the lead role as the nerdy Arnie who quickly becomes the disturbed owner of "Christine". Support cast, including ... Read More
