IF you haven't already watched parts 1-3 then the story line won't make any sense to you so pick them up to enjoy the final battle between the Getter team and the alien invaders! The battle inside the mutated Getter Dragon and the return of the original getter robots (thou piloted by the bad guys) is a nice touch as the Getter team first tries to stop the Getter Dragon from destroying Earth and then from stopping the alien invaders from using the Getter reactor from the black getter robot to finalize their plans for world domination of planet earth. The plan to destroy the comet and the end of the series is action packed and demands repeated viewing to enjoy the final chapter of this saga.

This series is a updated and more mature animi then the 70's version. Sometime between the end of the second series 'Starvengers' and the beginning of this updated version the Getter team went back to using the original Getter Robo robots, also the Getter Dragon robot is mutated into a giant misshaped dragon. Part one introduces us to the main charaters and the villians of the story and how they invaded earth. The original Getter Robo robots 1 and 3 are seen being used as bodyguards in different parts of the story. Getter Robo 3 is introduced first escorting a convoy of top secret cargo. Part 3 takes the Getter Team to the frozen area of the north poles where the team has to battle a alien from taking over the camp's power generator. The Monster does absorb the camp's generator and using a 'human shield' prevents the getter team from killing it. With that the getter team is stunned and can't make itself attack the monster. The arrival of the Black getter robot and its brutal attack on the monster shocks Kei in to asking "WHY?!" to the silent Black getter robot as it flys away. The team soon meets up with the black getter robot again in New York city where the alien invaders take the form of two cute puppies which the team adopts until they attack.
