Generator Gawl is one of the finest animes I've ever seen. It's not overdone, like the way some other series seem to be (or try to be, in some cases). The comedy is hilarious, the action is outstanding, the plot is rewarding, the animation is spectacular, and they all balance exceptionally well. This series (and this disk in particular) are a must-have for any hardcore anime freak like myself.

I bought the series on a whim as I was intrigued by the body armor. I was pleasently surprised that this one snags you much in the way Evangelion does. Slapstick comedy at the beginning and then once snared.. the storyline reveals the true line involved. A must see, and with a very good opening theme song... I recommend this to all. It has elements of GUYVER, EVANGELION and the same humor as NADESICO.

A truly excellent moment in anime history. Generator Gawl is most possible one of the best dubbed animes I have ever seen, not to mention that the voice actors cast for each role are absolutely perfect. This DVD is packed with action, humor, and even some romance and drama; it's got everything you could ever want! The only thing I could complain about would be the lack of extra features, although the schematics of each generator shown in this particular DVD is pretty cool, since they're worth taking a second look at. All and all, this anime has become my favorite, and if you buy this DVD, you'll see why - it's addicting!

The series leading up to this DVD did not really lead to believe that such a together ending would grace the series. Excellent components make this title very enjoyable to the sci-fi/anime enthusiast: Time paradox (albeit somewhat far-fetched) combined with best-of-evangelion style enraged eva 1 looking mutated Gawl provided really good action sequences. We get to see a newly mutated Gawl slash through the city, looking for revenge. I would dare say that if you are new to Gawl, you may want to do the strange thing of buying the last in the series (Vol 4), then if you are curious and want more, then do the 1-2-3. If you like the first one then you'll love the second one. In this Overcome with guilt about his involvement in generator creation,Overcome with guilt about his involvement in generator creation, Ryo breaks rank and confronts Professor Nekasa in order to stop the discovery that led to Gawl's transformation and the future calamity. Though Koji and Gawl are unaware of his plan, the mysterious (and dangerous) Ryuko Saito is more than alert to Ryo's intentions. And as Ryuko intimidates Ryo and wickedly toys with Koji, advanced and more powerful generators from the future come back for Gawl. Their bolder, increasing vicious attacks begin to weaken Gawl - and come dangerously close to the young girl Gawl has befriended.
