VHS : Intruders
Having studied the abduction phenomenon in some depth, and being acquainted with all the published work of Budd Hopkins, John Mack and David Jacobs over 20 years with thousands of abductees, I had low expectations of a dramatized movie doing justice to this enormous and detailed subject.

But wow, what a surprise. The movie really is good. It could be watched by a viewer very familiar with the subject, or one to whom the subject matter might be new and unknown, and both would find it absorbing and compulsive viewing. The screenplay is very strong, the plot line thoughtful in its development and the direction and editing really first class. The actors are all excellent, and the slow conversion of the psychiatrist character to acceptance of the phenomenon as real in the face of the ... Read More

VHS : Star Wars Trilogy (Special Edition) (Widescreen)
The Star Wars Saga changed the face of cinema, and even rewrote modern mythology. The journey of the hero, capitalizing on the imagery of medieval Japan, Flash Gordon, World War 2 and the Old West, comes to life in the classic "Space Opera" trilogy that affected an entire generation, and hopefully with this splendid DVD boxset, generations to come.

VHS : Abominable Snowman
An expedition searches for the Yeti of Tibet. These creatures, they learn, are far more superior to men. Using their powers of telepathy, the Yeti begin killing the members of the expedition in order to keep their existence a secret.

"The Abominable Snowman" is a perfect blend of science fiction and horror and was created by those who brought us the highly successful Quatermass films. It stars Hammer horror icon Peter Cushing as a botanist and Forrest Tucker (Sergeant O'Rourke from the TV series "F Troop") as a trapper.

Released in 1957, "The Abominable Snowman" was filmed in black and white. Pity it couldn't have been shot in color as were the Hammer horror classics, "Horror of Dracula, "The Mummy," and "The Curse of Frankenstein." However, since the ... Read More

VHS : Invaders From Mars
Invaders from Mars is probably the worst b movie I have ever seen. I used to think this film was a little cool but jeez I was 8 years old when I first watched this. I caught this sci-fi turkey on t.v. awhile back and this movie is garbage from start to finish. The peformances are even worse, I recommend you don't see this film, you'll thank me later.

99% of the time when I buy a "Directors Cut", the movie is improved and usually the added footage makes it more enjoyable if you are a big fan of the movie anyway. This is a completely different movie. It's funny; the one thing in the original movie that has been copied in countless movies is the narrative "feel", and this has been removed in the directors cut. I am going to try to sell this because I will never watch it again.

Its time people realize somthing important. When George Lucas sat down to write star wars in the early 1970's he wrote episodes 1-6. Not 4-6, 1-3 but ALL six!!! He couldn't make a movie that long. So he came up with the story from ep 4 because he felt it was the best part for the time. It was the greatest film of all time. He did not expect it to do that well. He was exhausted from working on it, and vowed never to direct again, which is why he did not direct ep 5 and ep 6. However, years went by, and so did the technology (which his company developed!! ILM) which became CG. Now that it existed, he could tell the story he wanted to tell- ep 1-3. BY KNOCKING THIS MOVIE YOU ARE KNOCKING LUCAS HIMSELF!! Its his baby. NOW PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, get over Jar-Jar!! I was frankly blown away by the lightsaber ... Read More

I suppose I'm lucky I hadn't read this in book form prior to seeing it on HBO in the 70's. My daughter and I must have watched it 10 times. It is crazy-fun, whacky, so silly and charming, yet dark - Clockwork Orangeish mixed with Dr. Strangelove but not. Michael Moorcock is one of my favorite sci fi authors and this film (though I gather he hates) really captures how funny he is in the most unexpected of ways. If you love the odd, get it.
