VHS : Fist of the North Star (1995)
If you saw the animation Fist of the North Star then you would not be dissapointed with the Movie. Gary Daniels stars in this intresting twist of sci fi, martial arts movie with some unusual techniques. The movie mainly sticks to the script of the animaion thus making it easier to follow for those who first saw the animaiton. I wasnt disappointed at all!

VHS : Fist of the North Star: The Series - Vol. 1
Any fan of martial arts needs this anime. Since it first aired in 1984, the artwork is showing its age, but this series is regarded as a classic, and still widely popular in Japan, even after almost 20 years. The opening sequence is completely scrapped and replaced with some Americanized garbage, all the music is changed in the dub, and the "next episode" previews at the end of each episode are taken out. The dubbing is good, but when compared to the original Japanese version, a lot worse. Get the subtitled version by all means.

VHS : Fist of the North Star: The Series - Vol. 1
This martial arts series, made almost 20 years ago, is still one of the most popular anime in Japan, and for good reason. The soundtrack, voice acting, and action are all top-notch. It follows the story of Kenshiro, the inheritor of the Hokuto Shinken martial art, and the savior of the post-apocalyptic world the story takes place in. Hokuto Shinken is an art that shatters the opponent from within, causing their body to explode. Needless to say, the anime is ultra-violent. All fans of anime and action should buy this, but don't buy the dubbed version.

VHS : Fist of the North Star 2 (Sub)
This series is very gory and contains lots of blood. If you like to watch things like this i highly recommend it..if not this might not be the series for you. I found this series to be very hilarious. I liked episode 2 but i bought it in subbed instead of dubbed and i really did not like it all. I prefer dubbed because they actually did a good job on dubbing it. Kenshiro faces a lot of tough memories while he tries to defeat his enemy.

VHS : Fist of the North Star 2 (Dub)
Having started watching the show not at Vol. 1 but at Vol. 2, I may have missed something. However, I most sincerely doubt it. While I do not know why Ken is running around with two little annoying kids, or why one of the female character's hair color seems to change, or why people think it's possible to put one's fingers through another person's flesh, I do know that I was COMPLETELY disappointed with this feature, and wasted the $4.99 that I bummmed off of my pal and now owe her.

I understand that this dates way back to the eighties, but the animation is so dissinteresting that I could not push myself to watch past the second episode on the tape. Ken's eyebrows are too big, and Shin... well, Shin's just plain ugly. The plot is boring, and the voices are irritating. I don't even WANT to try to sit through the dubbed ... Read More

VHS : Fist of the North Star 4 (Dub)
In episodes 10-12, Kenshiro finishes Madame Patra and her partner Dragon, then visits Bart's orphanage, which a gang called the Warriors, led by Jackal, plans to attack for its water source. There aren't any great fights in this one, except possibly the chase between Ken and Jackal, and the assassin in the forest. Still, fans of martial arts and anime itself should buy this. There are no problems with the dubbed version this time- it's pretty good in this one. Still, grab the subtitled one if you can.

In episodes 7-9, Kenshiro continues his quest to find Julia, but a new problem arises in the form of God's Army, a psychotic military group that Kenshiro decides to wipe out. This makes for some of the best fight scenes yet. The dubbed version tends to "dumb down" some of the dialogue and adds unecessary cussing, so buy the subtitled version.

VHS : Fist of the North Star 7 (Dub)
Episodes 19-21 contain a rematch with Ken and Joker, the supposed death of Kenshiro, and a rebellion in Shin's city. They're really stretching it this time with the dull Garekki and Hidora battles, but things pick up after a while. While this volume may be a bit on the slow-moving side, the big fight is coming up next volume...
