Potential buyers should be warned that this is not a DVD version of the made-for-film production that includes Angela Landsbury in the cast, though her name certainly appears on the box cover in the advertisement, the product description, and the reviews. It appears that none of the reviewers actually own a DVD copy of this film, and are therefore commenting on a different production than the one being sold (which I already own). As I remember, the production being sold here has sound issues, and the volume fades in and out. Nonetheless, "Hyacinth Bucket" gives a very strong performance as the foolish nursery maid, and the production has other appealing features to collectors.

I bought this movie for my grandparents. I have never seen it but having it arrive in the mail to them after they searched and searched for it locally; made my grandpa cry.

This is the best movie I have been wanting it for a long time, but was told that it was out of print. So I was on Amazon and typed in the title and found it, I wanted it on DVD but VHS will do at least I have it. My family loves the movie and it brings us together, plus it is a good clean family movie. The ratings nowadays leaves a lot to be desired, but this is one that you don't have to worry about. The movie is from 1978, still popular today. Another on I recommend is The Journey Of Natty Gann. It is a great movie for the family. God Bless!

what can i say that hasn't been said about this classic. it's a great family movie. great way the family comes together to defend itself. great way the boys are entrusted to go out and work for themselves to find a solution. lots of fun and excitement. is a little violent/graphic for a family movie, but no surprises over anything else.
