This video is a good mix of atmosphere and music. Music is a blend of traditional pieces, with bits of fireplace crackling interspersed. The fireplace crackling fades to the background and does not interrupt the music. The fire is lively enough to keep you interested. It was perfect to bring the season to a condo in Florida. The video will play again next Christmas. Excellent choice.

My two boys, ages 2 and 5 love the kidsongs videos. This one is their favorite. I like it too, because none of the songs are annoying so I don't mind it when they watch it five time in a row.

Very intertaining. I got this video to pass Victor Borge down to my grandkids--- they had never heard of him but enjoyed him immensely.

A must see for anyone who was ever in a "ROCK" band and or who has been associated with bands for more than a couple of years!!! This is "Behind The Music" before VH1 and MTV!!! Every facet of every scene was true of someone you may have known, which makes it even more hilarious as all the character's, confrontations, trial's and tribulation's all come together at once... here and now so to speak. This movie is a highlight reel!!! Too real... too funny ...too close to home!!! LOVE IT!!!

I purchased this DVD because that I already own the VHS, and I've almost worn it out! The sets and camera "tricks" are only so-so, but the choreography is a challenge for the upper-elementary aged kids. I use "La Bamba" every year for Cinco de Mayo, and the kids don't want to leave class. Also, I've used both "Locomotion" and "Everybody Dance Now" in program presentations, complete with lighting effects. Dance steps are shown in a manner easy to follow and learn, and the kids love the "cool" music. Just keep in mind that the difficulty level makes it geared for fourth grade and above.

I was not impressed with this video. Although it is well made the children found it much too difficult and gave up. I have played it for them several times, and they always begin with enthusiasm, but soon lose interest because the dances are much too hard for the little ones (ages 2-6) Maybe this would be a good video for older children, but "Chicken Fat" still gets my favorite children's exercise video review.

You don't get many opportunities to see Ethel Merman sing in films unfortunately, but this one has her in a couple of wonderful numbers, starting off with the outstanding Earful of Music which she does in a department store where she's selling sheet music. One outstanding song follows another. Eddie Cantor is magnificent. The Nicholas Brothers appear very early in their careers & are amazing in their gymnastic grace & invention. George Murphy & Ann Sothern join Cantor, Merman & the Nicholases in the rousing Mandy production where if you look real quick you'll see a young Lucille Ball in the chorus. This movie definitely deserves to be available on DVD. MY Laser disk version is wearing out!

I first saw this performed live at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa; where it originated. I then saw it every year following on Easter Sunday until they stopped performing it (wanting to now focus on other performances.) I bought the videocassete at one of the shows, and have since worn it out watching it over and over. I have probably seen this play 30+ times. It is a wonderful allegorical story of the fall of the angels, the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden, and of the Life, death, and Ressurection of Jesus. Yes, it's a Christian movie. It is also beautiful, and powerful, and haunting. I wept the first time I saw it. I am still moved to tears at times. Buy this movie. It is worth far more than the $(...) asking price.

Although the concept is great, it is ruined by amateurish filming & reproduction. Color changes for no reason,the camera focuses on the wrong things, the sound is tinny -- it is an embarrassment! The young dancers do well & may inspire others -- but the story is "told" sketchily, omitting most of the first act of the ballet.

It's an important historical documentary , but if you want to see old taps dancers like showed in the dvd cover, avoid it. There are only few short cuts from genius like Bill Robinson and others and many and many conversations and interviews. Try old videos in VHS or the outstanding afro-american dancers in 'Stormy Weather', a Fox musical from the fourties, available in Amazon.
