Do not buy from Amazon marketplace vendor MOVIESONSALE1. They advertised Bronx Tale as wide screen but sent the movie in full screen version with misleading packaging. Now I know why their rating is only 89% satisfaction. They collect money and deposit it and accrue interest and wait for the buyer to complain. I waited over a month to watch this movie and I went ballistic. After contacting the seller they claim they will send me a prepaid envelope and a full refund.

I can't believe that this movie has never been released on DVD!!! Especially with all of the fame that Kim Cattrall got with her role in Sex and the City...I would think that it would have created more of a demand for the other things that she has acted in, but somehow this one seems to have been lost along the way somewhere! I first saw this movie on television many years back and later rented it on VHS. It left such an impact on me that I have been waiting and watching for it to come out on DVD ever since. Fried Green Tomatoes starring Kathy Bates and Jessica Tandy is definitely a chick flick to say the least. I like this weepy drama but this film is a little too long and depressing. I do appreciate the great acting and friendship concept, watch this film with a best friend. Rent it sometime.

Will's play is pretty good. Polanski's film, not so much. Yep, the Scottish play was meant to be a dark one, and Polanski gives us lots of glowering skies, but I just didn't feel much depth of character in this rendering. I'd love to see what Zefferelli would do with Macbeth... or the Cohen brothers....

Definitely one of the best Vietnam war movies out there. It is more about the psychological trama of the Vienam war which I liked. It can seem a little out there from time to time but that's to get the viewer to understand it from the main character's point of view. This is definitely not for the younger kids out there and it is pretty intense. It is a must have for any DVD collection. It is one of those classic movies everyone has to see at least once. The acting is amazing. Just an overall great movie.

I have been waiting for years for this movie to make it to dvd.To say that this movie is quirky is an understatement. It follows a detective played beautifully by Dennis Hopper as he tries to solve a murder. What is unusual is that the average Joe uses magic as part of his daily routine,i.e.want to take out your trash,simply think it and its done or want to be beautiful have someone cast a spell and its done. Hopper vehemently refuses to use magic eventhough he knows how.We get to follow him as meets a cast of quirky characters who use magic and try to help him solve the murder. This was one of the best movies I have seen. The flashback technique was somewhat like Mulholland Drive, but the viewer was allowed to achieve total understanding at the end. (Although it might take a couple of viewings to really understand.) Every actor and scene contributed to the mystery which gradually illuminated complicated political, social, artistic, and psychological truths in the search for the answer to a seemingly simple question. The acting was fantastic as were the music and the settings, and the dialogue. Each complimented the other. There was some gestalt in the ending and Andy Garcia's portrayal of Lorca was courageous, sad, intelligent, and sensitive. It definitly inspires a second or third viewing, purchase of the soundtrack and Llorca's poetry. Also politcally pertinent even today.
