They did a great job of restoring it to its original color, and the sound quality was good, too. I shared it with my art students, and they loved it (although some thought it was a little weird!).

Bad direction keeps this movie from being good. In fact, even Barbara Stanwyck comes off looking awkward in some scenes. But she can never be truly bad. Her presence and a great supporting cast keep me watching this one again and again: (the usually weird) Sydney Greenstreet, (the often overly cute) S. Z. Sakall, and (the always wonderful) Una O'Connor. And the one-reel extra, A Star in the East, is pure Christmas schmaltz that will have any true holiday believers bawling on cue. And that alone is worth the price of purchase.

It arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The condition was ok, not great but ok. It did appear as if it came from a video rental company which was a bit troubling. All in all it was an ok experience although I think for the condition a bit overpriced.

Have you ever wanted to travel through time? To see the future? To witness historic events? Marty McFy(Michael J. Fox) finds hinself facing this when his friend "Doc" Emmett L. Brown(Christopher Lloyd) builds a time machine. Marty is accidentally sent back to 1955 (from 1985) ( he's only 17, so he hasn't been born yet) and disrupts his parents'(Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover) first meeting. On top of that, he might be stuck in 1955 because there isn't much plutonium around yet, and that's what makes the car a time machine. The actors do a great job of combining reality and science fiction to make my favorite movie. Do not show to young children who do not know cussing is wrong, as charactars swear freely.

I had never even heard of this movie until I saw it on TCM about a year ago. It is a cute story about a young salesgirl Polly (Debbie Reynolds) who ends up getting fired from her job. On the way back to her house she sees a young baby on the orphanage steps and saves it from a terrible fall. When she takes the baby into the orphanage they think it is her baby that she is giving them. The employees think that because she was fired she can't provide for "her" baby so they convince her boss to give her the job back. She ends up realizing later in the movie how much she loves the baby and wants to keep it. She meets the man of her dreams (ironically her real husband, Eddie Fisher) and adopts the baby. When are they going to put this movie on DVD?

I recently purchased this classic black and white movie starring Cary Grant, and I really liked it. I had seen it many times when I was younger but the last time I had seen it was several years ago late at night on some satellite channel. When I first watched this dvd I realized that the version I had always seen on T.V. had been edited. The difference between the dvd and T.V. version were that the introductory screen credits to the movie was a Halloween cartoon and there were several other scenes that had been edited or deleted altogether. There were a few special features but nothing too exciting. I would have rated this movie as perfect except for the fact that it has outdated slapstick humor and of course it is only b&w (black and white).
