VHS : Nightmare on Elm Street 5
All I have to say is thank god their was a version released with the deleted scenes! Greta's death is probably the best on the video...getting her own insides fed to her. No wonder the MPAA told them to change it! Dan's death is extended as well...it shows more of him being infused with the motorcycle. (these are the only two deleted scenes not included in the dvd or theatrical release)

If your gonna watch this movie, try to find the Unrated version...a much better viewing experience!

VHS : A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 - The Dream Child
I've read some reviews on this movie, and a lot of people don't like it. I honestly didn't think it was too bad! The night before graduation, Dan and Alice are having sex, then the nightmares begin again. Alice is in the shower, then she's transported to the asylum where Amanda Krueger was raped and where Freddy was born. (Robert Englund does another awesome job as Freddy Krueger!) If Alice can find Amanda in the real world, Freddy will die. Freddy is reborn and instead of haunting Alice's dreams, he haunts her unborn baby's dream, mixing reality and the real world. During her dreams, she sees her son, Jacob as a child, trying to help her stop Freddy. There was one cool part when Freddy is on a skateboard, coming after Alice's friend. A gross part for me was when Freddy is making Greta eat a lot of ... Read More

The box set itself is perfect. Anything and everything you could possibly want relating to the films. My complaint is with Amazon. It took forver to receive this. I ordered 3 things on the same day, the other two were here in less than a week *other items bought thru Amazon sellers* Then, when it finally gets here. It'd just been thrown in a box without any sort of padding! The corners were banged in! Plus, when I removed the plastic wrap part of the paint on the cover was pulled off as well! Really, I know this a great buy, but I wish Amazon would get its act together in regards of speedy shipping and taking care of their products.

Also, the picture they are showing must be the VHS box set, the DVD set it much smaller and has a different image of Freddy. He's standing with his back facing ... Read More

VHS : A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - Limited Collector's Edition - 2 Tape Set
To coincide with the release of "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare," this 2-tape VHS set was released by New Line Cinema featuring the first digitally remastered transfer of "A Nightmare on Elm Street." The video and audio are crisp and viewable, very much so considering that this is VHS. The second tape features deleted scenes, alternate endings, make up tests, visual effects tests, and sound tests. The ending of Tape 1 also includes trailers and TV spots for the other films in the the series.

All in all, this is a phenomenal VHS set, and it is a shame New Line didn't do this for the other films in the series throughout the series. Going into it, one must understand that this was released 8 years before the DVD set of the series was released, and the sad part is that this VHS has more entertaining features. ... Read More

VHS : A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors
Nightmare 3. Probably one of the best sequels to date. This is the movie where Freddy started using kids fears, ambitions, and hobbies against them. One of the best scenes is probably Phillips marionette walk. Still to this day grosses me out!

Also, a legendary line was coined in this movie. "Welcome To Primetime Bitch!". Which has been used for years and years since it's release.

This also sees the return of Nancy and introduction of Kristen. Heather Langenkamp and Patricia Arquette did an amazing acting job together. The pace of this movie is just right. And, in my opinion, has one of the best endings in any Nightmare movie!

VHS : A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
I will always hold this Nightmare movie in high regard. Since it was the first one I ever saw at the young age of 6 in 1988.

This film has Freddy tying up the lose ends from Nightmare 3. With only Kristen as the last "elm street survivor", she must somehow stop Freddy from killing anyone new. Freddy exploits her dream power and she calls in Alice, a shy, innocent girl who doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body. As Freddy finally gets his revenge, Kristen passes on her power to Alice.

Only problem is, Alice has a serious problem with daydreaming. Now one by one, all of Alice's friends get murdered by Freddy. But with every friend that dies, Alice acquires a strength or skill from them.

At the end, after all her friends are gone (except for her crush Dan), Alice takes on ... Read More

VHS : A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge
Well, Nightmare 2 gets a bad rap from a lot of Nightmare fans. A lot of it having to do with the gay undertones (Coach Schneider...well you know what he was planning on doing when he took Jesse to the school). But besides that, I give this movie props because it is definetly the last time we see Freddy being dark and scary. I started out not liking this movie. Then I started watching it more and more and realized that they did a really good job with it.

Another problem some fans have is the pool scene. And in all honesty, I'm not thrilled about it either. They should have established Freddy as being a killer in dreams more before taking him out into the real world. In my opinion, they rushed that idea a little too quickly.
