VHS : The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley - The Case of the Christmas Caper
Welles, Goddard, Hitchcock. These names are thought of when one discusses the topic of great film directors. To me, the unnamed person behind the lens of Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen - Our First Video deserves to be added to the list.
Here, in their first video, we see the origin of MK and Ashley. It's incredibly interesting, knowing them as we now do, going back and seeing how they were in the beginning. The singing, the dancing and the merrymaking all add up to an incredibly rewarding watch. Songs like "I Am The Cute One" and "No One Tells The President What To Do" are filled with as much meaning and passion as one could muster at that age. In fact, I'd say they evoked more of the aforementioned passion than many adults could have done.
The director coaxes wonderful performances ... Read More

VHS : Assault on a Queen
Welcome to my review. This particular version of the movie Assault on a Queen(VHS) is ample yet rare so if you see it cheap grab it before somebody else does to sell it on eBay. I take it you don't jump over tall buildings in a single bound or lay down with lions but if you do then this movie will still impress you I'm sure. Take the world famous Steamship HMS Queen Mary and chances are you've never seen her. Or for that matter noticed her even in photographs. But she's real and big for her age and at the time of this movie well dressed and rich... to staggering proportions. Not at all what would come to mind for the most of us.
Frank Sinatra... my favourite male actor of all time plays an American, well, and in so doing gives this film some character that although appreciated is not without ... Read More

This has a lot of memorable moments, even though the underwater sequences are overlong, but a good villain, great Bond girl, and of course Connery. See it.

...but, where is amazon coming up with the names of the principal characters in the movie?!? What about CARY GRANT & INGRID BERGMAN, two of the best actors/actresses ever? It seems as if this would be a very difficult mistake to make; it's pretty obvious on the cover of the movie even if you know nothing about the movie itself. Can't amazon do any better than this? I think a wonderful classic like this with such amazing and timeless actors deserves better.

VHS : JFK
For most of his career as writer/director, Oliver Stone has associated himself with controversial movies. None provoked discussion more than "JFK," now available in an Ultimate Collector's Edition from Warner Home Video. This powerful film about the mysteries surrounding the Kennedy assassination was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor (Tommy Lee Jones). The all-star cast includes Kevin Costner, Kevin Bacon, Gary Oldman, Jack Lemmon, Sissy Spacek, Joe Pesci, John Candy, Walter Matthau, Donald Sutherland, and Ed Asner. The three-disc set includes 17 minutes not seen in theatres, the documentary "Beyond JFK: The Question of Conspiracy," deleted scenes, five reproduction letters written by or to John F. The picture looks better, no more blips or speckles. And I thought it was interesting when William Friedkin says Hitchcock loved working with fake backdrops. I never knew that, interesting in the age of CGI technology.

I have seen most (if not all) of his movies. Errol has always been at the top of my list for free spirited actors. He was a rogue. His alcoholism did not help his acting any, but he managed to (in his younger years) be a fine actor with character and heart for the roll he was playing. The movie had a good plot but not enough (at least for me) interaction between him and Barbara. Because I am a very outspoken person, Barbara could have done a better job of standing her ground and confronting him, instead of sneaking around.
