I'll try to make this short, as this site doesn't allow more than 300 words on the reviews.

INDIANA JONES AND THE RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

This film is the classic and quintessential "Indiana Jones" film. Great storyline, top-notch acting, rousing music (especially the famous
"Raiders March"), hair-raising action sequences and superb directing. Rated PG for action violence and mild language.

INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM

The second (though chronologically the first) movie in the series is the darkest in the franchise. Good storyline, excellent acting, rousing music terrific drecting and some ideas originally conceived for "Raiders." Interesting sidenote: Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg married soon after this movie wrapped. ... Read More

VHS : The Indiana Jones Trilogy
Three years after he successfully thwarted the Nazis attempt to harness the power of the Ark of the Covenant; Indiana Jones is back for even more adventure with "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". Joining star Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg we have a new lead actress, as Kate Capshaw ("Black Rain") becomes the newest Indy girl, and young actor Jonathan Ke Quan as Indy's latest associate, the pint-sized Short Round; along with two new writers, Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz, that had previously worked with producer and co-creator George Lucas on his teen classic "American Graffiti". With all of the pieces in place, it was time for the adventure to continue, as "The Man in the Hat" was back once more on the silver screen.

VHS : Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
After preventing the Nazis from gaining control of the all-powerful Ark of the Covenant, and freeing slave children from an oppressive cult, Indiana Jones is back once again for yet another thrilling adventure. Series star Harrison Ford returns as the title character, along with John Rhys-Davies reprising his role of Sallah from "Raiders of the Lost Ark", and new to the series we have the original James Bond himself, Sean Connery ("007: Goldfinger") as Indy's long lost archaeologist father. With two highly successful films already established in the series, the third one would no doubt enthrall fans to some degree, but would the quality of the first two films remain intact all the way through the third; or has Indiana Jones finally met his match?

Upon receiving disturbing news that his father, ... Read More

This is a completely different film to its predecessor, Patriot Games - not necessarily better or worse, but its tone and direction are much more different, and its use of Ryan certainly is. We see far more of James Earl Jones' character Greer in this movie, and that is a good thing: he is a strong figure, a mentor and a sounding-board for Ryan, and watching his decline and death brings both counterpoint and perspective to the other on-screen events. The other supporting cast don't serve a single-minded purpose as they did in Patriot Games, rather they interact more, engage in political manouvreing, and indulge in self-serving machination. Ryan tries to weave his way through all this, choosing the path he believes is right, often with great doubt and a lack of confidence. This is not Patriot Games, where the goals ... Read More

VHS : Tarzan and His Mate
1934's "Tarzan and His Mate" finds Johnny Weissmuller, the quintessinal Tarzan, in his second outing as King of the Apes, defending his mate Jane (Maureen O'Sullivan) from a variety of hazards. Southern California fills in reasonably seamlessly for Africa, while a zoo's worth of animals are either defeated by Tarzan in personal combat or led by him against vicious ivory traders and their savage allies.

As the story opens, Tarzan and Jane are accosted by two English traders, who intend to lure Jane back to civilization and to find and exploit an ancient elephant graveyard for its treasure of ivory. Tarzan proves to be the principal obstacle to both objectives. In a rapid-fire series of action sequences, Tarzan must face down hungry lions, charging rhinos, and rampaging tribesmen, while trying to rescue ... Read More

VHS : Dolemite 2 - The Human Tornado
What is the question that will forever be the Dolemite aficionado. A burning question guranteed to forever split both sides of the debate.[No, its not that serious] Just which Dolemite movies are better than the other. Is it Dolemite or the Human Tornado? For me it was the Dolemite over the Human Tornado. The Humando tornado starts off as a F5 but by the closing credits it whimpers into a FO. What hinders the film is both sluggish pace and lack of funny lines from Rudy Ray Moore. The films does have some interesting material[such as the Mrs. Cavaletti scene and car chase] but it just comes off as too soft and slow. Let's not forget the fact it lacks the defining role of our favoriet character--the Hamburger Pimp!!!!

Dolemite's homeboys are just not funny. The three friends and all the other supporting actors ... Read More

I love this movie. I owned it on VHS and was looking to upgrade, so I bought this DVD. It's a 2 sided disc so you have to turn the disc over half way through the movie just to watch the rest. Lame. I was also a bit disappointed that the video by Bryan Adams wasn't at the end with the credits like it was on the VHS. It was also at the end of the movie in the movie theatre too, so I'm not sure why they would exclude it on the DVD. I love this movie and hate to give it any thing less than a 4, but because of the DVD format, I'm giving it a 2.
