Let me start off with This is a great fantasy series. If you have seen and or liked the twelve kingdoms and or Kyo Kara Maoh!: you will enjoy this series. It has an interesting story with characters who all grow on you and are easy to understand their motives. The world she enters is fantastic.

What i dislike is a bit too often its already outdated animation gets even worse and resorts to obviously foolish cartoon antics. The quality drops the facial expression and body styles get heavily exaggerated. This type of animation never appealed to me and this series does it more often then most others. I feel this takes away from the story at hand. I also feel that too many characters from both worlds says "from the moment i 1st met you i loved you" waaay too often- In fact this whole ... The first episode on this tape is extremely sad. You see a side of Tamahome that you knew existed, but never seen before. This was one of the best episodes I've ever seen. I didn't care for the Digest that came after the first episode, so I fast-forwarded through most of it. I suppose the digest would be good for someone who is new to the series or did not start from the beginning. I really liked the character descriptions, but it would have been nice if it was in English. For those of you who don't like Nuriko, I guarantee you will change your opinion of him after watching this tape.

Plot: (tiny spolier warning if you haven't seen the whole FY TV series) Miaka, now in High School, and Taka (Tamahome) have been living peacefully in Tokyo when one day Taka disappears, drawn back into "The Universe of the Four Gods", where he is tricked into believing he's Nakago. Things progress from there and Miaka has to go back into the book, gather the Suzaku seven, and defeat some more villains. All the while Taka has to come to grips with who he really is, Taka or Tamahome? Character or real person?

My thoughts: Some aspects are good, some not so good. The issues that Taka has to deal with is probably accurate for what he would have been through. It's darker than the TV show, more of a drama than a comedy, but it's not bad. There are these really funny "Bus Trip" extras stuff, and some ... Read More

It's slow and kind of a cop out. The rest of the Suzaku 7 just appear out of no where, the story becomes choppy, and at some points makes no sense. Actually, this all seems to happen in the middle episode. I don't know what happened (and I don't care enough to look), but it looked like they changed artists and the director for the middle episode. And it hurt to look at. Thankfully the last episode reverts to normal. It's not as good as some previous ones, but maybe the episode before had poisoned my feelings. Anyway, this isn't going to stop me from getting the next one. I just hope this doesn't happen again.

Well the bad news is the "i have always loved you" crap saturates the 2nd season just as much as it did season 1. The good news is the action, suspense, magical powers, and compelling story line follows suit as well! This season is loaded with fights, action, death, love, loyalty, deception, and drama. This season flows even better because the story line was already established last season. We leave the book and take place in the real world. The animators even threw in existing buildings of major companies located in Japan which i think brought the store to life. After watching this I have scene where the creators of "Dragon Wars (2007)" (live action) got their idea for a story line.

This is so far the one best volumes I have ever seen! Yuu Watase is a genious! Both the humor and serious moments were good. But they showed Miaka bathing too many times. Even if you couldn't see anything, it was annoying. But the way they introduced Chiriko was interesting. The fights between Tamahome and Tasuki were really humorous! And Chichiri was really weird as usual. Mistukake actually talked! And "Chiriko" was revealed. Tamahome was as stupid as always (Sorry I just hate him for almost killing Tasuki). Hotohori was beautiful (duh!). And Nuriko was gay. And same for everyone else. In conclusion, 2 thumbs up and a hug to Tasuki and Chichiri!

*ahem* I absolutely love Fushigi Yugi, and I am currently tryng to see the entire series (even though I know the ending...) but anyways, I would like to warn people of something about the OVA's formatting.

If your like me, you probably buy a mix of subbed and dubbed tapes, pretty much anything that is available. Well, for the OVA I bought the first tape, dubbed. It contained episodes 1-3. Then I bought the second tape, subtitled...and it contained episodes 5-7! I couldn't believe it, I had TOTALLY missed episode 4 (which, btw, I didn't notice until after watching a episode 7). So WATCH OUT, make sure you check to see what episodes are in the tapes before you buy them!

P.S: Chichiri is a cutie, eh?

Aright! If you have seen the second OVA I know for a fact that you'll love the third one. And for first time newbies to the anime Fushigi Yugi all I have to say is get the first one first. But for all the other people who have already seen some of it i have to say some thing. Tasuki and Miaka look more right together then Miaka and Tamahome but don't kill me!!!!!

Gosh, this was a great video (I love Hotohori!...) but, i have to agree with the other reviews, the voices were not what i expected, especially Chichiri's (goodbye no da's, tear)! I thought Nuriko sounded good, and so did Hotohori and Tamahome, but Miaka...her voice is the most annoying ever! I think most Anime lovers would really enjoy this video, Chichiri is so cool, even though his voice is weird, but, if you've never heard the Japanese version, the voices are ok. I, personally, love the Manga, especially since Yu Watasi adds in all sorts of great extras, like Fushigi AKUGI (the malicious play)it's about a page long and it has scenes that are changed from the story to something real funny,i suggest you buy that too, if you're really serious about Anime. Anyone who enjoyed the VHS, would probably enjoy the Manga too. ... Read More
