There are about ten laughs in this film by smarmfart Al Franken. Worth seeing once. But Franken's brilliant creation is Stuart himself. Full disclosure: I loath Franken's politics and most of his other humour, but this work is a brilliant exception. Stuart Saves his family is an overlong extension of a SNL skit about "Stuart" the over twelve-stepped psychological casualty of our continuously self-indulgent selves. Rather than overcome his traumas, Stuart nurses them like a bacteriological growth in an inner Petri dish. Wayne's World 2 was released in the magical year of 1993. Yes, the very same year that gave us the emergence of the Dogg, Sonic 2 and the legendary Death Ring. This film obviously is the sequel to the wildly successful original. The first film was a huge commercial success, and it gave us the famous Bohemian Raphsody scene, but not much else. Wayne's World 2 is a much better, and infinitely funnier film. We will not argue about this. The difference might be as simple as Garth not being a complete tool in the sequel. This movie is absolutely hilarious, for ages teen and older. My kids especially love the quirky but loveable character played by Molly Shannon and her equally quirky but loveable friends. If you're looking for something intellectual, keep searching for another movie. If you are looking for something light-hearted that will make you laugh but also has an underlying good premise about not letting anything or anyone keep you down when trying to reach your goal, then this is a movie you will enjoy.
