This video came out in 1994, I didn't buy it till 2007. I think it's the BEST step video, and probably the best of all aerobic workouts, that I own. It really stands the test of time, as you can tell from people leaving postive reviews for this video for several years now. I'm high-intermediate to advanced but when it comes to step, I don't like to learn complex choreogrpahy because that just wastes precious workout time. This one was easy to learn, it's fun and enjoyable, yet still challanges me, because Kari demonstrates different advanced options during every combo. Just choose all the advanced moves if you need more challange. Choose all the easier moves if you are still learning or need to take it easy. This is a great workout! You will work hard, but the time will pass quickly, because the choreography is fun. The choregraphy is moderately challenging, but perhaps easier to catch onto compared to Sweat Express or Body Tech. I'd recommend this for intermediates and advanced, but beginners can also start here and work their way up. This is a worthwhile addition to any workout collection.

What a workout video! It's one of the best aerobic videos I own (and I have a few!) Being from the UK I had never heard of Kari Anderson but she is just great! The choreography is FUN FUN FUN and you want to see it through to the end. This video includes high impact for the advanced exerciser, and good music to keep you going! There is a warm up, 4 aerobic sections, a cool down, and stretch. This is one of the best workout videos around, I recommend you buy it!

This became my favorite aerobics video of all time, and I wore out the VHS tape. I wish she would put it on DVD. The steps are a bit complicated to learn at first, but once you get them, it's a good workout, fast-moving and no too long, keeping me interested over many years. I like the arm workout with the band and the cooldown as well. I have tried the following other aerobics instructors: Jane Fonda, Kathy Smith, Cher, Donna Richardson, Gilad, Callenetics, Denise Austin, The Firm, Ginn Miller and Christi Taylor. My favorites are this one and Kathy Smith's Power Step.

The only complaint I have about this workout, is 1 section there are more repeaters than I'd prefer. The music is great, not spectacular, but has a good beat. The routine is fun and only a few tricky moves are thrown in. A higher moderate exerciser could do this tape. Don't let the advanced part on the title make you think otherwise. The tape ends with a dyna band tubing section on the step, then off with some upper body & ab work. This section is short. I like that this tape has upper body added. Great workout.

This tape uses a lot of moves that were popular in high-impact aerobics classes back in the 80's and early 90's. I don't have a problem with that, but the tape just moves too fast. I can't execute the moves as fast as they do on the tape, at least not with anything like a full range of motion. A very short person might be able to. I was disappointed in the tape and can't really get a good workout from it. It is also weak in the pre-stretching and cooldown.

I really liked this video. I think it's great for all levels of fitness. I was very fit, then had some medical problems and I'm just beginning again. I found Kari's instructions easy to follow and I can adjust the workouts as I go. If I ever get bored, I'll add the other Shape Personal Training System Videos to my collection also. I gave it a 4 because it could use some more upbeat music.

This step workout is only for advanced steppers, if you are a beginner you will only get frustrated and give up. It's also a challenge for intermediate steppers, which I consider myself to be. The first time I attempted this workout, I had to stop the tape and rewind it a few times just to get the first part of the routine. I then spent another day rewinding and practicing the second part. After three days, I finally got the whole routine and now it's so much fun and such a great challenge that is was worth all the effort I put into learning it!! Don't get discouraged or intimidated at first because if you put your mind to it, you will be able to do it too!!
