VHS : David Carradine's Tai Chi Workout for Beginners
This has got to be the worst video I have ever seen. The ever changing back ground made me feel like I was watching a Star Trek movie. It looked like they were being beamed around everywhere. At times I felt sea sick. I was really looking forward to this tape. How disappointing it is.

VHS : David Carradine's Kung Fu Workout
David Carradine put together a very good video here.
It is a bit more relaxed than a Karate teaching tape and the stretches, excercises on this tape make for a good low intensity workout.

VHS : David Carradine's Chi Kung Beginners Workout
Excellent Chi Kung workout for beginners. My girlfriend lent me her VHS tape and I thought it was great, so I bought it. Could only find it in VHS format. I found it to be a good workout, clear and well demonstrated. I did work up a sweat on the workout even though I didn't seem to exert much effort, so that tells me the workout did work the organs of the body. Carradine also presents the material in a very soothing and peaceful voice and manner. Carradine uses 3 - 4 helpers, to help demonstrate the moves. The camera person also shoots from several angles, so you can better see the moves too. Carradine also shows you some accupressure points and how to apply pressure to them. He even explains some basic energy flow methodology.

I incorporate a bit of Chi Kung immediately before and after ... Read More

VHS : Shaolin Strength Workout
I had been looking for a good "body-weight" or Dynamic tension exercise program for some time. I had previously seen and used Harry Wong's "Dynamic Tension" book and video, but there were some gaps in the training that weren't made clear. So, I decided to take a chance on this video.

It's pretty good. Narrated by David Carradine (and thankfully not demonstrated by), this video shows the basics of what I assume to be a traditional kung fu dynamic tension exercise program. I hesitate to call this a "program" because, as the title suggests, this is very beginner stuff. Not to say that the exercises are worthless, but they focus on only the major muscle groups in the torso while almost ignoring the lower half of the body.

The video is nicely shot and well produced and the demonstrators ... Read More

I'm a cashier at a grocery store, and i was frist turned to this tape when my mother ordered it for me through a magazine i think. It sat on my shelf for a good few months before i popped it in and decided to work out, it was difficult to follow first but after trial and error, i got it all down. I used this tape to help me lose weight and I watch it once in the morning and twice in the evening after work to relieve my tension, and it's help me lose alot of weight and build much more confidence!!! I adore this tape so much and I will keep on buying more of his videos.

This has got to be the worst workout tape I've ever used. The title is completely misleading. This was a very slow-paced workout with no cardio whatsoever. Don't buy this if you want to work up a good sweat.

...Too bad almost everyone else in the video was NOT, and that the producer and cameramen didn't know what they were doing. If you do the warm ups slowly and carefully (in spite of the complaints about this video's lack of warm ups, the whole first section of the video is nothing but) and then follow the master's moves ONLY, as shown later on in the video, you will build your Chi. I gave this 3 stars because this was the first video workout I ever attempted that actually helped me feel the Chi (regular practitioners will know what I'm talking about); the master was that good. DO NOT FOLLOW THE MOVES OF THE OTHER STUDENTS- MOST WERE CLUELESS AND MAY INJURE THE PURITY OF YOUR OWN PRACTICE.
