Tracie Long is a great instructor, always demonstrating proper form, and is easy to follow. I use the "Firm Basics" series along with Leslie Sansone to get started exercising again after being inactive for a while. This tape is for beginners, and those who find the new "Firm" workouts beyond their capabilties. A great start to better fitnes.
This series is not produced on DVD. It would be great if it was.

I've owned and used this video for nearly 10 years. I'm a Jazzercise junkie and use videos when for whatever reason I don't go to Jazzercise. After trying many videos and CDs, The Firm and Gilead, in my opinion, consistently give the best, and safest, workouts. I often turn to this video for a good, all-over workout that isn't too vigorously jumping or dancing. The cuing is excellent and you can ramp up or tone down the weight levels depending on how you feel. I've never used this video with a barbell but use free weights instead, and they work just fine. After all these years I still find this video challenging and don't get tired of it.

like I have said before.The Firm is one of the greatest systems.I bought this one to go along with the other ones I have been buying after my rapid body change.This one uses the 8-10 inch aerobic box and the wonderful fanny lifter.It also adds a little barbel to it,other may use weights if they wish.Jayne Poteet is a marvelous instructer.Another one of my idols.
There is also another good point about this.It is wonderful for older people.This is one me and my mother have the funnest doing.After doing this one my mother has lost weight and moved up the other Firm tapes.She is another Firm believer who has gooten great results.

Of the two Lift Weights to Lose Weight volumes, this is my favorite. It utilizes classic moves - there is nothing new and innovative here, but that is what makes it so effective. Almost anybody coming into this workout for the first time will already be familiar with the basic moves or be able to pick up on them easily. (Hooray for not having to waste half of your precious workout time setting up an exercise!) Unlike many weight training programs that feature instructors using the same set of weights throughout (usually 3 or 5 lbs), you are encouraged to have two or three pairs of dumbbells on hand. This is a great product to use at home that allows you to get a quick work out in without moving all of the furniture. You are basically marching in place. It is quick paced so you do get in a good work out. Even my kids (6 & 3) join in for a little exercise. We use soup cans for weights instead of the weighted balls.

I'm just finishing up an eight-session introduction to yoga. Since money is an issue, I decided to continue my yoga practice at home rather than at a studio. I searched for a good DVD to follow.

After a lot of on-line research, I selected this as my first DVD. I wasn't disappointed -- this is a great DVD for me. I'm 62 and not overweight. Does it include any advanced work? No. Does it emphasize weight loss? No. Does it give an excellent yoga session, from beginning warm-up and breathing exercises, move on to an active yoga session, then finishes with a cool-down session including relaxation? Yes. It also includes additional backup material to assist the student.

Will this be my last yoga DVD? No, but for now it's perfect.

I have to say these videos are awesome for those of you who are just starting out with a fitness program/diet.
These videos are not to intense were you would want to quit in the middle of the workout, mostly because the instructor is so pleasant and verbally explains how you should be feeling during each workout segment. I am at this website trying to find more videos with the same instructor. I would definitely recommend anyone starting out to get these tapes.
