The product, this dvd, claims some type of "decode" software, if you want to see this in your PC, or a kind of domestic dvd machine capable of to read it format, from Englad, I suppose.
I live in Brazil, and now I had already solved the problem in PC, but I'm still in search of another kind of domestic dvd machine to substitute that I have.
In spite of all, I' glad with my purchase. To buy more I have to solve this problems.

VHS : The Standard Deviants - Anatomy, Parts 1 & 2
This video set is spectacular for presenting anatomy in an educative and entertaining style. Having used many videos to explain various anatomical concepts and principles, I have found this set keeps my student awake, and even more importantly, helps them learn and apply this knowledge in a difficult and demanding curriculum---Naval Hospital Corps School!

I REMEMBER THIS MOVIE IN JR.HIGH IN THE LATE 50'S AND EARLY 60'S. WHEN I CAME BACK AS A TEACHER IN THE 70'S, IT WAS STILL BEING SHOWN. IT REALLY HELD THE ATTENTION OF STUDENTS WITH ITS FRANK CAPRA FORMAT AND ITS HOST, DR. FRANK BAXTER. MANY SCHOOLS STILL USE THIS MOVIE, 43 YEARS LATER.IT HAS GOOD ANIMATION, A GOOD SOUNDTRACK AND MR. SUN IS MARVIN MILLER (THE VOICE OF ROBBY THE ROBOT). IT COVERS THE BASIC ASPECTS OF THE SUN IN A INTERESTING AND ANTIMATED WAY.

VHS : The Standard Deviants: Biology
Admittedly, this is not the most entertaining movie out there, but if you're watching a DVD called "Learn Biology", entertainment is not primarily what you're after, right?

I watched this movie as the base of my studying to pass a Biology placement test for my return to college. I was not looking for entertainment...I was looking for a video that would CRAM a semester's worth of general biology into my head in two weeks.

And that it did! I passed the placement test with apparently the highest score they've seen in a long time and am now heading to Anatomy & Physiology next semester. I was actually asked, "Are you already in the health or science fields? No? Then how did you get such a high score?" ***grin*** I didn't share my secret with them, but I am sharing ... Read More

VHS : The Standard Deviants: Physics Video Box
There are no actual experiments in these DVDs, however, they deserve some credit for this work. I used and still use the DVDs with my 8 year old son. I have almost every title of Standard Deviants that my son learns from since he was 4. They are not all created equally, I must say.
I conduct my own experiments to complement these Physics DVD. I also pause the DVD as necessary to go into depth, or explain with more details. Some people commented that the content is very simple, no real physics, well, it works fine for my second grader. He started watching them over a year ago. And we continually reuse them as he understanding of the concepts increases. However, no quantum physics info...

VHS : Insects:Little Things That Run the Wo
This video seems to be more concerned with the Smithsonian museum than with insects. Most of the video is taken up with still pictures or drawings of scientists or talking heads. When it does show insects, they are usually dead ones pinned in a collection at the Smithsonian. The occasional (and I mean occasional!) footage of live insects can be grainy. I guess this isn't bad if it's what you want, but it's deceptive advertising to put a picture of an insect on the box cover. They should have put a picture of Edward O. Wilson, Charles Darwin or the Smithsonian museum.

7.The Brain, Our Universe Within: Evolution & Perception starring: Discovery Channel

You don't need to be a kid to watch this video. I'm 30 and going back to school to be an RN. I can't understand my professor to "save my life" but this video helped me very much! The Deviants act kind of cheesy but this video really gives a different perspective on how to understand Chemistry. It's worth a watch for sure. If you're buying it used, be sure to ask the seller if the insert is included. They refer to it several times and my seller did not include it in mine. Happy studying!

VHS : The Standard Deviants - Rockin' World of Geology - Part 1
There may be some confusion about the purpose of Standard Deviant videos. The stated goal of this series is "enhancing the academic SUCCESS of students everywhere". Each video is designed with the college student in mind, for review in preparation for exams, or as an introduction to a tough subject of study, and they accomplish that purpose AMAZINGLY well!

These excellent overviews present important concepts in a memorable way. Yes, they can be silly and irreverent (hence the series title, a delightful play on words) but it's all to make your retention stronger during those stressful testing moments. Videos cover lots of crucial material fast, with the idea that you can replay any section as often as you need to, until you "get it". All videos contain study techniques and reference ... Read More
