VHS : Absolutely Fabulous - Series 4, Part 2
As a veteran fan of the show from its inception, I found the fourth series to be a bit less funny...although "Fish Farm" and "Small Opening" were my favorites (Patsy in Manson garb was too funny!) Eddy and Patsy are both still looking great and Patsy especially seems more sophisticated and "mellowed out."
I do think that the segment with Sarah's "chemical peel" was unnecessary, and I am not sure what the purpose was for this since I try to like Edina despite her self-absorbed persona. And for some reason she does a lot of yelling in the "Menopause" episode instead of being humorously agitated like she was before. Overall I really enjoyed the first three series more but I found some good things in these as well.

VHS : Absolutely Fabulous - Series 4, Part 1
Ab Fab lives up to it's name once again. Jennifer Saunders is writing and delivering sharp performances as always. The supporting cast is still in top form and one would never guess that it has been five years. If you like Absolutely Fabulous then you won't be disappointed.

These beautifully funny shows rival the old screwball comedies of the 1930's & '40's for roll-on-the-ground laughing madness. In fact, the old and rarely seen adjective "madcap" describes the shows perfectly.

Edina Monsoon is a self-absorbed slacker who lives high by ripping off her ex-husbands. She and her friend Patsy Stone get into almost as many misadventures as they do bottles of vodka. Saffy, Edina's long-suffering, introverted daughter provides the foil for the madness.

Jennifer Saunders has talent coming out of her ears; not only does she perform pratfalls and other physical comedy without the help of a stand-in, but her non-stop delivery would be funny if were just reading the phone book. As it is, the scripts are works of art, much funnier than Seinfeld, ... Read More

VHS : Absolutely Fabulous - Series 2, Part 1
The beginning of series two (recorded in late 1993 and origanally transmitted in Britain in early 1994) got off to a great kick start with the classic episode, Hospital, where Patsy (played by delectable actress, Joanna Lumley) wishes to have cosmetic surgery but all goes horribly wrong. It was clear the series was back and was better than ever. Jennifer Saunders is even more flamboyant in the second series and is even more hilarious in doing so. It was quite obvious that the cast had become accustomed to their roles and it really shines through, with the series being in full swing. Both Saunders and Lumley sparkle together through these episodes as does the highly talented, Jane Horrocks in the role of the dizzy and totally incompetent, Bubbles. Horrocks is given more screen time than in the first series ... Read More

VHS : Absolutely Fabulous - Series 1 Part 2 (ISO Tank, Birthday, Magazine)
IMHO, ISO Tank was the ep that took the cake of the entire series. (Close second to SEX) The best part was the DNA presentation (Look for the "DLA Project" T-Shirts Eddie had made). "Danny" was great too... (too good to be true in fact) "Mark 'em up, send 'em on..."

VHS : Absolutely Fabulous - Series 1 Part 1
Ok.

Yes, Saunders and Lumley have created two living legends with their characters Edina and Patsy. But make no mistake boys and girls, this is highbrow humor. The average American couch potato might not "get" what is going on at times. (i.e. "why is that so funny?) However, if you enjoy Monty Python, Mr. Bean, Are You Being Served, or any other form of English humor, you will find this show admist your favorites. But, yet again, even if you do not like English humor I suggest you try it one more time......I never get tired watching these two perform.

Episode Guide:

FASHION - Edina freaks out because she has a fashion show to organize and this time she has to be sober. (until afterwards.......)

FAT - Edina diets to impress old rival. And Patsy pairs up with ... Read More

Oh no, this does not end the series. There is a movie called Absolutely Fabulous The Last Shout, and talk of a reunion show for the two.
