VHS : Fawlty Towers - The Complete Collection
Fawlty Towers is one of those British sitcoms that although they haven't a high number of episodes, the quality alone is something to make it a timeless classic. I think the high number of people who wil gladly vouch for how good this sitcom is only expresses the true quality of the comedy and the cast involved. The characters are well defined and the setting is utilised to its full potential. Only 13 episodes were made but managed to gain such a cult following, those 13 episodes were just enough to keep the likes of Basil Fawlty a household name for over 30 years. Only the likes of Del Boy and Rodney have gained such a heightened level of comedic status.

The story is simple, Fawlty Towers is a hotel owned and managed by Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) and his wife sybil (Prunella Scales). ... Read More

VHS : I Love Lucy Christmas Special
"I Love Lucy" was such a wonderful series and a landmark in television history which has been in a constant state of rerun since it first premiered in the early 1950's. It was such a success because of the superb talents of the four main leads, brilliant writing, and a great care shown for how the stories of the trials and tribulations of the Ricardo's and the Mertz's were presented.

In this video we have a unique installment from the classic series in the one and only Christmas special produced during the shows run and it has been rarely seen since its first and only screening in the 1950's as it wasn't included in the original rerun deal because of its specific Christmas theme. The episode is a warm and funny one with the cast of Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, William Frawley and Vivian Vance working ... Read More

VHS : The Mr. Bill Collection (The Best of Saturday Night Live)
All the material on this disk plus more is contained in the three-disk Definitive Collection which at the time of this writing is in print, available on Amazon, and very inexpensive (especially through 3rd-party sellers). What the D.C. lacks is any printed material that might be included with this Anchor Bay release.
Mr. Bill, BTW, seemed a lot funnier to me during his SNL run (this seems to be the general consensus), but even with hindsight, I'd probably still purchase the D.C., if only for an inexpensive trip down Memory Lane. Rating reflects the material, which I have seen, and not this particular release, which I haven't.

This really is the best I Love Lucy Collection. It comes with 3 VHS's. Two of the tapes have10 episodes from the TV Show. Each tape has 5 of the most popular episodes of I Love Lucy. The third tape is Finding Lucy. This VHS talks about Lucille Ball and how she got started in show business and how she ended it. The Episodes in this Best of Collection are
Lucy Does a TV Commercial: Lucy wants to be in Rickys show so she shows Ricky that she can act. She auditions for a TV Commercial called Vitameatavegamin. Well it turns out that it has 23% of alcohol in it. So when she reherses for the commercial she ends up screwing up.

VHS : Doctor Who - Revenge of the Cybermen
I base my rating of a story on whether or not I was entertained, and if what I just watched left me with a good feeling. This story accomplishes both. I find it hysterical that critics of Doctor Who stories use lack of realism as an argument, as if someone traveling through space and time in a police box is realistic! Cheap sets? Use your imagination. We all have it; it's just that some of us know how to utilize it better than others. Revenge Of The Cyberman is one of the better stories of Tom Baker's first season as the Doctor, certainly better than the "classic" that preceded it.

VHS : Bill Nye the Science Guy: Human Body
I like this tape a lot; think it's very informative and fun. Bill Nye is terrific as usual; the show is well-written and well done.
My quibble is that it's called Human Body and it's really two shows: one about SKIN and one about the HEART AND CIRCULATION.
So I bought it thinking it would be an overview of the human body and instead it's two shows about two specific aspects of the human body.
So I just wanted to warn other potential buyers.
Buy it and enjoy, but know what it's about.
