I am a runner, so Steve Prefontaine is a hero to me. He was an awesome runner, and also did a lot for amateur athletics overall, affecting all generations after him. He died such a tragic, untimely death, but his legacy and inspiration live on. Great documentary of a great hero.

VHS : Face the Music the Tour
I bought this tape because I wanted to see again the wonderful long program put together by T&D "Let's Face the Music and Dance". The tape begins with the beautful "Bolero" The show continues with an "unusual" choice of music and rather scrappy skating. The lighting and sound left much to be desired.I sat through it waiting for the finale. As I watched T&D skate I thought, "if they had skated like this at Lillihammer the judges' scores would have been correct."

Hoop Dreams is an amazing film. Not only is it the best documentary of all time but one of the greatest movies of all time.
I was amazed at how director Steve James was able to get this on film so perfectly. The story follows two inner city kids, Arthur Agee and William Gates, and their dream of making it to the NBA and out of the ghetto. The doc was filmed over five years we watch these two boys at fourteen grow to be young men and the ups and downs they go through. Viewers also get a look into the life of how kids are scouted and the harsh realities that go along with it but ultimately it's an uplifting story about overcoming your struggles and preserving.

The doc is so natural that at many points I forgot it was a documentary and I was watching a movie based on a true story. ... Read More

I found this movie/documentary to be rather sophmoric and goofy, but worth watching anyway. Some motorcycle magazine editors feel they have to mention this, "EPIC", tale in their respective publications every month, raving about how wonderful it is and how much it influenced their lives. I just don't see it. I grew up in the 60"s and 70"s and have been riding motorcycles for 39 years. I certainly didn't need Bruce Brown to tell me to.
