The product, this dvd, claims some type of "decode" software, if you want to see this in your PC, or a kind of domestic dvd machine capable of to read it format, from Englad, I suppose.
I live in Brazil, and now I had already solved the problem in PC, but I'm still in search of another kind of domestic dvd machine to substitute that I have.
In spite of all, I' glad with my purchase. To buy more I have to solve this problems.

VHS : Evolution: Why Sex
Professionally done, interesting, informative.
Various topics include lizards, fish, birds, monkeys, and humans.
Why are males necessary if some organisms have females who reproduce without males? This suggests there is an evolutionary survival aspect to having males and females. The answer seems to be that evolutionary variability gives a defense against rapidly evolving diseases. The selection of mates is related to evolutionary survival. The dedication to the next generation is an evolutionary survival trait. The variability in selecting mates who display health, or display social helpfulness is explored, including some subconscious functions in humans.

I would have given this five stars, but for its length. My original intent was to use it for a review of Darwin's insights to how evolution works for Biology students. Fifty minutes would have been ideal. At almost two hours in length - it fills the bill for Darwin's place in history and as a mini-biography of this great thinker, but leaves the science as a shared subject. For many non-Anglo students, it can be overwhelming in its scope.

This is an excellent overview of evolution. What sets it apart are the diverse topics addressed. The dramatic reenactments of Charles Darwin in the Galapagos Islands and at home were very well done.

There is plenty here so one can return to it repeatedly without tiring of it.

Some may disagree but I thought the episode about religion vs. evolution was handled perfectly. While it's thorough and clear about which side has all the evidence, I don't think the documentary goes so far that it would offend or turn off most religious viewers who are negative towards evolution. While they might not go away convinced, I can't imagine them becoming so upset they would turn away in horror or anything like that. Those who have a problem with evolution should make the effort to watch this, ... Read More

The movie was about God's place in evolution. The movie showed Christians battling wiht their faith and the theory of evolution. It showed both sides of the controversy with highlighting either side to make one seem better thatn the other. It showed the trials and other importatn things that affect the teachings of evolution.

For the most part I found the movie to be believable and educational.I learned many things that I'd never heard before. For example I learned about "Christian Evolutionist," whinch means the person is a Christian, but also believes in evolution. Also, I learned about the different things scientists have found to prove evolution and creationism. To prove creationism they use the book of Genesis where it talks about a flood. To prove evolution they use different fossils and the ... Read More

By tracking TB and a few other examples this video shows the process of evolution as an interactive exchange between organisms as they change in relationship to each other. It is an excellent video - along with others I have seen in this series - for use in biology classes from high school through basic college courses. This one can be used in discussions on disease or evolution. Very interesting, fast paced and Great science!
