Well, this video is interesting! There are many very young (soon to be stars) students of Bela in this video to showcase skills. A few names are: Erica Stokes, Kim Zmeskal, and Hillary Grivich. At the time of this video these gymnasts were only 8-10 yrs. old. The video was fimled during one of Bela Karolyi's summer training camps in Texas, and takes you through propper warm ups, floor exercise, beam, vault, bars, and conditioning. The video shows skills for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. At the end of every event, one of the elite gymnasts does a competitive olympic style exercise. Thanks to this video I got to see for the first time Kim Zmeskal doing gymnastics. Iam 14 years old and I was little when NBC passed this championchips. I allways wanted to see Kim Zmaskal, who for me is the best gymnast in the world, even thoug the misshap she had in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. I thank you very much for releasing this video. Now I can really see how the gymnasts that now are veterans or retired , how they started there carrers.

This video has plenty of gymnastics and ice skating contrary to other reviews. The performances display some of the best artistry and skill in their respective sport. Brian Boitano is in my opinion the best ever and seeing Peggy Fleming perform is certainly a treat. This video is A+!

My daughter got this video last year for Christmas. We are watching it today for the first time in several months, and I am complelled to write a review I should have written last January. The video is great- my 6 year old loves it- that was the problem. From the beginning, the tape itself had a few places where the picture would jump, but I couldn't pry it from her to return it for replacement. I fiqured we could live with the bad tape quality since it was only a few tiny places, but it has gotten much worse over time. Just beware that while the content is good, you may be better off with another video- or maybe mine is just a bum tape.

This video is all highlights of the National Championship competitions. There is no Olympic footage in this film, with the possible exception of a beam routine by Cathy Rigby which was clearly an amature video with added commentary. Nadia is in this video for about 5 seconds (no gymnastics) and Kerry Strug is not in it at all which is ashame. Another reviewer in this section states that Strug appears in the video, but only her name is mentioned. There are a lot of great routines in this video, but it would have been nice to see some Olympic performances. Overall the video is okay and entertaining, but it was definitely not what I had anticipated based on other reviews in this section.

Do not buy this video if you want to really see what happened during the gymnastics competition in Atlanta. This video features a very brief review of the competition, with NO full routines or original commentary. Instead you get a poorly put together "fluff" piece of the events. Fancy music plays over the spliced together routines and some random guy talks about the competition. I have the original broadcast of the gymnastics events from Atlanta and this doesn't even come close.
