1.It's Potty Time starring: Duke Family Series

VHS : It's Potty Time
I think this VHS was actually detrimental to my grandson's potty training. The only use he saw for a potty chair like his was a toy bear; all the children in the tape used the big potty and were 4+ it looked like. So, back at square one where he thinks his potty chair is a toy. This VHS might be ok for bigger kids, but even then I would like to see a little less extaneous material, ie, party footage, etc.

I would recommend this to anyone--man or woman--who has not laughed in a day or so. I am 60 and enjoyed her work and played it for adult women in their 20's and they appreciated it as well.

VHS : A Woman's Guide To Firearms
This video, though a little corny, is for anyone thinking of owning a handgun for self defense but doesn't have the knowledge of how to start. Don't be stupid and buy a gun and then try to figure out how to use it on your own. This video is less about the details and more about telling the newbie how to get motivated and where to go for their first experience.

I think starting with a .38 special revolver and getting professional personal instruction as shown in the video is a great way to start. Also as shown in the video, if a person isn't intimidated and is instructed in a calm and confident inspiring way the sky is the limit and soon guns become a healthy hobby as well as a tool for personal defense.

The women in my family have seen it and I loan to anyone that's ... Read More

My son's vocabulary is insanely advanced (at 16 months old he had 50 words), and I think this video series has helped. He was a super preemie so therapists were urging us to stay on top of his development (at one point his speech seemed behind). One therapist recommended this video series a few months ago. We play these videos (alternating Volumes 1 & 2) for him once every couple of days. He's suprisingly entertained by them (there's no story, just pictures of things while a voice names them: Baby, Ball!) But he soaks it up, and recently started talking up a storm, pointing to things and yelling Lion! etc. Of course the videos don't get all the credit. I constantly narrate to him. But I highly recommended this video series.

VHS : Irish Dancing Made Easy
I'm a homeschooling mother of seven and my children and I use this video for our "gym" class. We absolutely love it and highly recommend it for people new to Irish dance. We tried other videos but they went way too fast. Seamus Kerrigan teaches it relatively simple to where I even have my 3 and 5 year old dancing with us. And I agree with the other reviewer, in time you too will be saying 1,2,3, in front, behind, down 1,2,3. Enjoy! :~)

We have the first three tapes in this series, and I play them interchangeably for our son, who is just over a year old. I found it frustrating that a complex term like "bulldozer" is included, while the baby is still working on learning the much simpler "truck." I mean, why are we getting into such complex distinctions of types of vehicles? I'd have preferred that the vocabulary list stick to words most likely to be needed -- and reinforced -- by everyday living. Only if the kid lives in a construction zone would "bulldozer" seem necessary. I felt the same way about "helicopter" -- but then again, when my son watches the shot of the chopper taking off, he's highly amused. So I have mixed feelings. The whole tape keeps his attention nonstop, and I like the way they break up the pattern of repetition ... Read More

I bought this tape to supplement a course I am taking. I wanted something to help me with my home practice. As an instructional tape it is excellent. However, It is divided into an instructional section and a practice session. As a beginner, I need both. So I have to go through the instructions then fast forward to the practice... a distraction. A DVD with menu would be a great improvement. By the way, it may seem a bit expensive, however, it is well worth the price.

VHS : Learning Guitar for Dummies
I've been playing around with my guitar for some time, trying to teach myself how to play the thing since professional lessons are way more than I can afford right now. This little DVD was just what I needed to get me past the chording hurdle. Being able to play along with someone else is a big help. I would recommend this DVD as a good beginning to teaching yourself how to play.

The information and the pictures were very helpful, but the fact that the "doctor" was in scrubs with a mask was a little off-putting! Even so, it's a very useful video if you have old windows to repair.
