VHS : Groundhog Day
One of my favourite films. This has incredible one liners, great slapstick, Bill Murray at his best and a really strange but completely great premise behind the whole thing.

Superb.

directed by: Arthur Rankin Jr., Jules Bass

VHS : The Flight of Dragons
This movie, The Last Unicorn and the Phantom Tollbooth were my favorite movies as a child. Only one is out on DVD. Unfortunately it's not this one. I know the company is making a killing on the last unicorn. This one would very easily match it. If the DVD gods are reading this please, please, please put it out on DVD! I promise to buy at least 3 copies.

VHS : Somewhere in Time
This is a fantasy movie from start to finish. But it is very well cast and the props and scenic backdrops are fantastic. Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour are wonderfully romantic. A love story about time travel for the ages in my opinion. It's my all time favorite.

4.Highlander starring: Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown, Roxanne Hart, Beatie Edney

VHS : Highlander
I finally ignored many of the reviews and got tired of waiting for whatever Blu-ray version that may one day exist and bought the DVD and to say; the music is excellent and also nothing at all wrong with the DVD quality. Sure not 1080p quality but fairly good for DVD.
So much so I can now say I proudly own all of the 6 seasons of the TV series and all of the movies. The original Highlander movie finally convinced me to finish off the collection and to have all of them.
Great to see the original again and I had forgotten so many things and it was great to see how it all began. I told recommend this edition!!Highlander (The Immortal Edition)

IN A NUTSHELL: DOES WHAT A TIME TRAVEL MOVIE IS SUPPOSED TO DO!

This sequel of the superb "Back To The Future" is a very earnest attempt to follow a winning formula up with a truly worthwhile effort in this sequel. Complex, yes, but interesting. Unfortunately, at times it gets a bit too mechanically contrived with the time sequence derivations, and I find myself mentally checking the continuity which detracts from the theme. Nevertheless, if you liked the first "Back To The Future" you will probably enjoy this movie. All the characters are present from the original and they are playing multiple generations almost simultaneously. After all, isn't that what a time travel ovie is supposed to do?

VHS : Time Machine (1960)
Everyone has his/hers favorite movie, but The Time Machine has to rank way up there on many people's list. Based on H.G. Wells eerily dark vision of the future, George Pal's Time Machine is science fiction at it's best. Inventor George Wells (Rod Taylor) has invited his friends over for dinner at his house. His friends are impatient, as George is late for his own dinner. George soon manages to show up, but his clothes are torn, and his body bruised. His friends sit him down, and George tells the story of what has happened to him. George reminds his friends of the meeting they had five days earlier, in which George demonstrated to them a prototype contraption he had built, which could travel in time. His friends didn't believe George, and when they left, George tested out the full version, sending himself ... Read More

VHS : Slaughterhouse Five
First off, I've never read the book. That said, I must say that what I find most intriguing about the Billy Pilgrim character (Michael Sacks) in SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE is how much of a true pilgrim he is. He is unhitched from time, while simultaneously, due to his own pleasant personality and ever-calm demeanor, Billy is also a traveler through space. He drifts through life as a disengaged observer, like a cork floating down a stream. Billy is a warm, innocent human being who is utterly removed from his own existence! He watches / feels things unfold like a character in a play. He reminds me of Peter Sellars' Chauncy Gardener in BEING THERE. Adrift in a universe that simply takes him wherever it will. The main segments of Billy's life are presented from his own disengaged viewpoint. We get to go along with him ... Read More

VHS : Donnie Darko
This bloodless production's period costume design, cars, TV newscasts and popular music do nothing to make it seem like anything other than a product of this torpid decade; you can't sell a counterfeit 1988 to a fledgling of that enormous, tacky era. If I want '80s teen angst or surrealism, I'll consult the genuine article and watch some old David Lynch or John Hughes films (separately), all of which have what this film doesn't: character, substance and zeitgeist without all the hokey pretension of this boring, distended exercise.

The novelty of this movie's time-travel plot gimmick can't sustain its numerous uninspired scenarios, complete dearth of appealing and interesting characters, vast array of moronic clichés and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is surely the most irritating actress in recent memory.

VHS : Time at the Top
Elisha has a time machine. They could really use this back at CTU so they can expand their 24 hours.

Any way. Yes this movie really is a must have for all Elisha Cuthbert fans. She's just so damn sexy in this one. She's literally in every scene. And her in a 19th century sailor suit---ohhh.

The plot to this is so hackneyed I didn't even try to make sense of it. Elisha plays an A+ student (BIG stretch) and young actress who finds that an elevator in her apartment building is a time machine. Instead of going anywhere interesting, Elisha travels to a 19th century farm and saves a family from poverty by using 1998 newspapers to play the stock market. Not as boring as it is agonizing.

But did I mention: THIS FILM STARS ELISHA CUTHBERT! And if you love her you'll love this movie just like ... Read More
