VHS : Howard the Duck
Howard the Duck must be one of the best movies I ever saw while I was growing up. When I found out how horrible the movie did box-office wise, I thought, Okay, what went wrong? The movie takes home 4 razzies including worst picture of 1986 and George Lucas disowns the picture afterwards. Pixar Animation was founded because of this movie. That should account for something (check out IMDB.com for that). As for the DVD, on dvdverdict.com somebody interviewed director Willard Huyck and writer Gloria Katz and they were surprised when the movie wasn't available on DVD yet. Willard said they may have to talk to George Lucas to get the movie available on Region 1. If Universal ever puts it out on DVD I hope that Howard the Duck gets the special edition treatment it deserves in widescreen no doubt. ... Read More

VHS : The X-Files (Movie)
My family has recently become huge fans of the X-files TV show (thanks to reruns on the Sci Fi channel), so we were excited to see that they had actually released a movie back in the late 90's. I read several of the bad reviews that this movie received, but we really liked it when we first watched it. True, it's a little different from the TV series in that it was hard for them to try & fit in all of the usual cast members, but overall, we were really surprised at just how much we liked this movie. It was very suspenseful & it kept us rivited to the very end. Can't wait to see the new 2008 movie version as well!

VHS : Death Race 2000
I remember convincing my dad to take me to this movie when it first came out telling him about all the "cool cars" that were in it. He almost flipped a lid when the first nude scene miraculously popped onto the screen. I remember him telling me not to say a word of it to my mother. Oh what fond memories that brings to the forefront of my memory.

This is such a fun satirical movie that you can't help but like it.

The one scene that always sticks in my mind as perhaps the most hilarious of the entire movie is when a bunch of doctors and nurses take a bunch of sick and elderly people and put them in the middle of the road prior to the racers arrival in order to help their favorite driver score some much needed points. They then hide in a driveway off to the side of the road in front of the hospital. ... Read More

VHS : The Matrix - Standard Collector's Edition
As annoying as Keanu C. Reeves can be, this is his ultimate role! The 44 year old Canadian actor whose middle name is Charles plays Neo who is most unlike his character in the 1989 comedy Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Released in 1999 and written and directed by the Wachowski brothers this film takes the viewer into a dismal future for mankind in the year 2199. As ubiquitous as today's World Wide Web is, this film goes in a direction that takes electronic machines and their artificial intelligence to the extreme in which they take captive 99% of humanity.

As dependent on machines, the internet and technology as we are - could all of that become greater than us and in turn rely on us for its survival? You decide, this movie is in my personal top three movies I have ever seen!

6.I Come in Peace starring: Dolph Lundgren, Brian Benben, Betsy Brantley, Matthias Hues, Jay Bilas

VHS : I Come in Peace
Essentially, "I Come In Peace" (aka "Dark Angel") is a great idea that was only moderately well exectued. With the exception of appearing in a religious drama, this is probably the strangest vehicle for action hero Dolph Lundgren to get himself over, and to some degree, the Swedish Superman makes it work, but even along with the passing performances of the rest of the cast and a pretty original bad guy, "Peace" ends up being forgettable due to its uninspired pacing and overall lack of action.

Jack Caine (Lundgren) is a vice cop who's earned himself notoriety for doing things his way, much to the dislike of the department. After being assigned a by-the-book partner whom he frequently finds himself at odds with (Brian Benben, "Radioland Murders"), Caine's personal war on Houston's drug cartel takes a twist when a new player ... This movie was so great that it is almost impossible to tell ya. I will not give away the story. If you ever get the chance to buy this movie, do not waste it. You will be sorry if you do not get it. It is a rare Godzilla flick. The best Godzilla movie is right here.

Some of these reviews are pitiful and mean spirited.
I have been a Star Trek fan since the early 1970s as a child, but am not a trekkie.
I enjoyed this movie and do not nit pick it apart !
I pray for at least one more Next Generation movie !

I own the VHS Copie of this Movie, and I must say it is a classic. I'm very disappointed to see that people are trying to sell this movie for as much as $158.00. I think that's a little outragious and no wonder why people go out and download these movies illegally. I'd probably do the same. Also when you want to put that $ sign down at a reasonable price, then you might get a sale. Untill then, I won't Pay that much for a dvd. Period!!
