VHS : Bronx Tale
Do not buy from Amazon marketplace vendor MOVIESONSALE1. They advertised Bronx Tale as wide screen but sent the movie in full screen version with misleading packaging. Now I know why their rating is only 89% satisfaction. They collect money and deposit it and accrue interest and wait for the buyer to complain. I waited over a month to watch this movie and I went ballistic. After contacting the seller they claim they will send me a prepaid envelope and a full refund.

VHS : The Outsiders
This is a great DVD with the extra scenes in it bringing the book more fully to life Don't get me wrong I adored the original but this is better. I think the music is fine and not at all distracting. Highly recommended.

VHS : Wait Until Dark
Based on the play by Frederick Knott, 1967's WAIT UNTIL DARK was very much "the" thriller of the era, a shocker that set audiences screaming--particularly in the film's final ten minutes, when cinema lights were lowered to the legal limit, placing both characters and audiences in near total blackout for the the movie's climax. The whole thing was a huge success, and it copped Audrey Hepburn still another Academy Award nomination as best actress.

Hepburn plays Susy Hendrix, a blind woman living with husband Sam in a New York apartment. Sam has recently come into possession of a doll which he later mislays--but unbeknownst to Sam and Susy the doll contains heroin, and three criminals set out to recover it. With Sam lured away for the night, the three attempt to con Susy into finding ... Read More

VHS : All This & Heaven Too
Most books are better than their film renditions, with a few exceptions. I personally enjoy the movie based upon Rachel Field's "All This and Heaven, Too" more than I ever liked the original novel. Not that the book is dull; it is based upon a true event. Rachel's great uncle married the infamous Henriette Deluzy-Desportes. Mademoiselle Deluzy was accused of complicity in a murder which rocked France and ignited the Revolution of 1848. After her release from the Conciergerie she fled to America where she married the Protestant minister Mr. Field.

The film, however, brings all the characters and their vying passions to life far better than does the novel. Charles Boyer wavers on the brink of insanity as the honorable but tormented Duc de Choiseul-Praslin. Scion of an ancient but impoverished family, the Duc ... Read More

VHS : A Time to Kill
Sandra Bullock, Samuel L Jackson, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Spacey... this film is packed with awesome actors and a reknown director couldnt really go wrong... and on top of that an amazing story told in a most shocking way is really a must have for any film.

The story is about racism and the southern states, a rape and a murder put the balance of justice to the test, the movie opens for debate whether the sorrowed father should be freed or the law must be followed.

With great pleasure I recommend this movie for any adult or teenager. Children should be advised better although the plot might not interest them there are a couple of strong scenes that might mislead them

10.Bloodline starring: Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, James Mason, Claudia Mori, Irene Papas

VHS : Bloodline
BLOODLINE, based on the novel by Sidney Sheldon, is a good movie if only to see the radiant Audrey Hepburn in one of her final acting roles. She plays Elizabeth Roffe, who inherits her father's pharmaceutical empire following his mysterious death. Facing opposition and downright hostility from the board members (who also happen to be Roffe relations), Elizabeth's own life soon becomes threatened.

A boring script and meandering plot are the main factors why BLOODLINE never really catches fire; despite a star-studded international cast which boasts James Mason, Ben Gazzara, Irene Papas, Romy Schneider and Claudia Mori. The sweeping, haunting musical score is provided by Ennio Morricone.

Audrey Hepburn bravely leads the charge with an intelligent and sympathetic portrait as Elizabeth; this film was ... Read More
