Thumbs down on this seller. I am very dissatisfied. I have bought many used items through Amazon and always had very good results with other sellers. I wrote to the seller and did not get a response. I asked for details on returns and no response. I asked for a refund and no response. Do not purchase from this seller. I am still waiting for action to be taken to resolve this issue. I rate this BAD (no stars).
I hope Amazon can help me with this problem.

I love this movie. I haven't seen it in years and I am dismayed to learn that it isn't available on DVD yet. This is one of the best teen movies I have ever seen. It's sweet, honest, funny and kind.

Please release Angus on DVD soon powers that be. Thanks!

VHS : The Thorn Birds - The Complete Miniseries
Although most agree that this was a gripping storyline and a classic miniseries, there were some people that criticized Rachel Ward. I would like to point out the following:

1) She was extraordinarily beautiful, hard to look away from when she was on-screen. It was plausible that a priest or any other man would be drawn to her. I can't imagine a better-cast Meggie than Rachel Ward.

2) Ward did a remarkable job of portraying convincing love scenes with a gay actor (Richard Chamberlain). I do not know if the cast was aware of his proclivity. If nothing else, Ward's gaydar may have signaled her to the truth of Chamberlain's orientation. Both actors deserve credit for pulling this off.

3) The reality on the set was that Ward had found her "masculine counterpart" ... Read More

It is truly a shame that this film is not available on DVD in this age of technology! Furthermore...[.....]..ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I already have a copy on VHS and I bought it brand new...and no...it did not cost anywhere near [.....]. That is a total rip off. The movie is entertaining, but it's not that good and most people have never heard of it. Why the scandalous greed when it comes to selling a copy of a VHS? I am just going to have my copy transferred to DVD and I will sell them for [.....] bucks a whop. I'm an incurable romantic and a Catholic and that is why this movie appealed to me. Believe me...it's no great drama, but if you are a romantic like myself, you will enjoy it very much.

Great book. Written in sense of "Gone with the Wind." Good character development. Really saw the growth of Scarlet, from self-centered child to caring young woman. Always had the feeling, unlike the film, that it was Scarlet and Rhett. Set in Irish history background.

When C.S.Lewis, author of such books as "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" was only a small boy of 9, his mother died and he learned that his only way through the pain and loneliness was to encase himself in an impenetrable shell, so that pain could not touch him. He leads an ordered, safe life as an Oxford Don, singing in the cathedral choir and lecturing to audiences of adoring women readers. When he meets American writer, Joy Gresham, her brash, New York, Jewish forthrightness almost batters him but luckily he summons enough courage to begin a friendship. He agrees to marry her so as to allow her and her son to remain in England and gradually she softens his defences and becomes part of his life as a platonic friend. When they discover that Joy is dying from incurable cancer, Lewis realises the depth ... Read More

I have all of Barbra Streisand movies on Dvd except for this one. This is one of the biggest mysteries. It probably is Barbra's best film ever and it is still not out on Dvd. What are they waiting for? I wish someone knew the answer to this question.

After seeing a revival of Carnival at the Kennedy Center about two years ago, I wanted to see this. When I found a used copy recently, I was disturbed. The story focuses on a woman who borders on social retardation and a man who loves her who is emotional abusive unless he's using his puppets to communicate emotion. Hmmm. Worth watching, but what it says about gender roles in mid-century America is just downright disturbing.

VHS : The Dead
The tenor evoking the memory of Michael Furey (the dead) for the wife,as he sings during the dinner party, assumes a more significant role when heard in a film score, than when left to a reader's imagination. John Huston had the keen sense to find the best - Irish tenor Frank Patterson, who died in 2000. According to CD notes for a Patterson collection including this song, he was originally going to be hired merely as the voice, but was then cast to act and sing.

While I admire the acting and directing as noted by so many others, it's the power of Patterson's marvelously wistful singing, so clear and pure, that most illuminates what little plot there is,and lingers with me. Hearing the song as he sings it, allows me to enter the wife's mind and interpret how she lamented her long-lost lover.
