This is probably one of the best animated movies ever. My 3 boy's who are now in there late teen's early 20's loved this movie when they were toddlers. We saw it on cartoon network in the late 80's early 90's and that was there favorite movie I taped it off the TV and they watched it sooo much the tape broke. They have not aired it since and I would really LOVE to be able to own this on DVD one day. If they ever decide to make this into DVD or Blu Ray this will be a definate big seller. Please Bring this Movie to DVD you will not regret it....Erin.S ( LAUREL MD)

I loved this series, when I first watched in on television back in the '80s. Every couple of years I pull the tape off the shelf and re-watch it. This is not just for Bryan Brown fans, but for the Gordon Jackson fans in the crowd. Jackson's portrayal of a man who falls in love too late in life, is very touching. I would love to see it available on DVD!

A beautiful film about the power of love to transform people. This is one of the best movies ever made and I cannot for the life of me understand why it is not available on DVD in the U.S.

I have loved this movie ever since I was a young kid. It is a classic. I watch it every Christmas season just to get me in the spirit. We rarely get snow in South Carolina, but it helps to remind me a bygone days. It's just a fun little movie with some classic actors and actresses that are gone to movie heaven...at least, I hope.

this is the best in the three part series. it follows the book almost to a "T" and the acting is splendid. if you have children who are yet too young to read, this is a great way to share the ANNE OF GREEN GABLES experience with them.

This VHS tape is blank...Back Street Thumbs down on this seller. I am very dissatisfied. I have bought many used items through Amazon and always had very good results with other sellers. I wrote to the seller and did not get a response. I asked for details on returns and no response. I asked for a refund and no response. Do not purchase from this seller. I am still waiting for action to be taken to resolve this issue. I rate this BAD (no stars). I hope Amazon can help me with this problem.

Although most agree that this was a gripping storyline and a classic miniseries, there were some people that criticized Rachel Ward. I would like to point out the following: 1) She was extraordinarily beautiful, hard to look away from when she was on-screen. It was plausible that a priest or any other man would be drawn to her. I can't imagine a better-cast Meggie than Rachel Ward. 2) Ward did a remarkable job of portraying convincing love scenes with a gay actor (Richard Chamberlain). I do not know if the cast was aware of his proclivity. If nothing else, Ward's gaydar may have signaled her to the truth of Chamberlain's orientation. 2.5 stars. Poitier is Poitier. I'm starting to believe his whole charm was that he looked good in sixties-styled clothing. But as far as having any depth I've only seen a glimmer of it in A raisin in the sun. The rest, well, they all seem like the same character. Really, there's no difference between this performance and that of A patch of Blue or Guess who's coming to Dinner. Plus if this was the depth of problems in the late sixties then truly it was a generation of spoiled brats. I just wasn't impressed.

It is truly a shame that this film is not available on DVD in this age of technology! Furthermore...[.....]..ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I already have a copy on VHS and I bought it brand new...and no...it did not cost anywhere near [.....]. That is a total rip off. The movie is entertaining, but it's not that good and most people have never heard of it. Why the scandalous greed when it comes to selling a copy of a VHS? I am just going to have my copy transferred to DVD and I will sell them for [.....] bucks a whop. I'm an incurable romantic and a Catholic and that is why this movie appealed to me. Believe me...it's no great drama, but if you are a romantic like myself, you will enjoy it very much.

Great book. Written in sense of "Gone with the Wind." Good character development. Really saw the growth of Scarlet, from self-centered child to caring young woman. Always had the feeling, unlike the film, that it was Scarlet and Rhett. Set in Irish history background.
