I love this movie. I haven't seen it in years and I am dismayed to learn that it isn't available on DVD yet. This is one of the best teen movies I have ever seen. It's sweet, honest, funny and kind.

Please release Angus on DVD soon powers that be. Thanks!

Bad direction keeps this movie from being good. In fact, even Barbara Stanwyck comes off looking awkward in some scenes. But she can never be truly bad. Her presence and a great supporting cast keep me watching this one again and again: (the usually weird) Sydney Greenstreet, (the often overly cute) S. Z. Sakall, and (the always wonderful) Una O'Connor.

And the one-reel extra, A Star in the East, is pure Christmas schmaltz that will have any true holiday believers bawling on cue. And that alone is worth the price of purchase.

How can it be that Walter Matthau's best performance, especially a comedy performance, is not available on DVD? It's a shame, because this is arguably the most brilliant dark comedy from that wonderful golden age of grown-up films from the mid 60s to the mid 70s. This movie is way too funny and brilliant to be this undercover and cult. Elaine May is to comedy what Coppola and Scorsese were to drama. Her writing is as good as comedy writing gets, and her performance gives a glimpse at how wonderful a comic actress she really is. No B.S. either. This one of the great comedies. Can't believe it's not on dvd. Not to be missed. I remember seeing this on tv when I was a little girl and thinking, that is a wonderful world those two people live in. It played the midnight show in college and the crowd loved ... Read More

4.Pretty Woman starring: Richard Gere, Julia Roberts, Hank Azaria, Judith Baldwin, Ralph Bellamy

VHS : Pretty Woman
One of those movies you watch every time it comes on television because it's so cute, yet one of those movies you're almost ashamed to adore because it has almost no redemptive features; `Pretty Woman' has become an instant classic for almost no reasons at all. Sure, it's cute, but so aren't a lot more respectable films.

Oh yeah, I forgot; Julia Roberts is amazing here.

So, that answers all questions doesn't it? Why do we love this movie? We love it because it gave us Julia, our beloved Julia. She is charming and warm and heartbreaking and moving and memorable and sincere and we just want to eat her up in every scene. The problem with `Pretty Woman' is that when you take Roberts' magnetism out of the equation you have a rather empty film that relies on clichés to carry it ... Read More

One of my favourite films. This has incredible one liners, great slapstick, Bill Murray at his best and a really strange but completely great premise behind the whole thing.

Superb.

This movie has gotten some unnecessarily bad press. It's basically a Cinderella story with wine. The performances are excellent and the Louis Jourdan subplot is clever. This is a straightforward romantic comedy with some international adventure elements. The script is by the great William Goldman. I've seen it again and again. It's sweet and endearing and the wine information is accurate. Check it out. You have nothing to lose and you probably have a wine-loving friend or two who will find it fun.

This warm and funny account of a newly married couple trying to make a go of it on a backwoods chicken farm, based on Betty MacDonald's popular best seller, was a big hit with audiences during the 1940's and has lost none of its appeal today. This is a great film the entire family can watch together. Chester Erskine produced, directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Fred F. Finklehoffe in this hilarious and heartwarming film all will enjoy.

Claudettle Colbert is wonderful as the shocked but game Betty when on her honeymoon her husband Bob (Fred MacMurray) informs her he has quit his brokerage house job and bought a chicken farm in the country. She figures things could be worse, and they are, as their farm is a ramshackle old place that fights back! After all, there's not another place in the county ... Read More

I was discussing favorite films with a friend (East coast Jewish), who raved about Annie Hall. I said I didn't like Woody Allen. I'd seen a couple of his movies and wasn't impressed. She said, "Well, there is a lot of New York humor in it, maybe you wouldn't know the references." OK, I AM from Ohio, but I am NOT a rube! I really wanted to tell her off, but I watched Annie instead. Then I thanked her for offending me, because this movie is wonderfully quirky and very funny. Since then, I have had to watch every Woody Allen movie. Not all of them are good, it's true, but some are absolute gems. Annie Hall is a gem.

It's a romantic comedy about an unlikely couple, dialogue-heavy, and sprinkled with flashbacks of Alvy's life before Annie. You must listen to the dialogue to appreciate the film; this is key to ... Read More

How can Jerry Lewis be a babysitter for a Hollywood starlet? This is the question you will find out when you watch this 1958 classic comedy. Jerry is a TV repairman when he receives the startling news that he is about to be a babysitter of TRIPLETS! I laughed out loud when I watched this on my DVD/Video player. You will enjoy every minute of this Jerry Lewis comedy from nearly 50 years ago!!
