I was disappointed because I thought I had a DVD, but missed the VHS on the item. It was cheap, so I got excited and bought it. When it came, I saw the box and knew why it was cheap. It was totally my fault, so can't blame the seller. I will be more careful next time. We don't own a VHS player, so it was a waste of money for me. I gave it to my church for a yard sale. It taught me a good lesson to pay attention.

VHS : Girl of the Golden West
It was suppose to be in color, but with ongoing problems ...like always..
MGM shot it in black and white. Im so used to see Nelson and Jeanette in
black in white that i does not bother me anymore... The Love stories are
always a pleasure to watch and the signing usually melts me down.
There was some ongoing friction between the two stars when the movie was
filmed but it does'nt show. Lots of people can sing, but none can beat
the duo of Nelson Eddy and Jeanette Macdonald.....Music Gold.

If you like old movies, this is a good one. The story is not that great but the dancing & singing are very good. You realize what a good singer Howard Keel is & I didn't even know Jane Wyatt cold sing, and she is very good.

This move is a great timeless Classic. Great acting and good music. I did not know what to expect with Lee Marvin and Clint Easwood, two that were better known for hard gunfighting movies, in a musical, but it is great. I recommend this for all families. It will remain a part of my movie library for future viewing.

VHS : Rainbow Valley (B&W)
"Rainbow Valley" was the 13th of the B Westerns that young John Wayne did for Lone Star, which was part of the poverty row Monogram studio. This 1935 film was directed by Robert N. Bradbury, who did most of Wayne's Lone Star efforts and has a rather interesting premise for a western. Rainbow Valley needs a new railroad built through the gold country and Wayne plays undercover agent John Martin, who shows up to protect the workers. Meanwhile, local big shot Mr. Rogers (LeRoy Mason) brings in a hired gun, Butch Galt (Jay Wilsey, aka Buffalo Bill, Jr.), who has crossed paths with Martin before. It turns out they shared a prison cell together, so Galt thinks he can get Martin to help destroy the railroad with dynamite.

George Hayes, who did not quite have his "Gabby" persona developed at this point, gets second billing playing ... Read More
