VHS : The Perfect Weapon
This is a great movie. One of my all time favorites. Why it's not on DVD yet, when everything in DVD, is beyond me. Studio execs, listen up, this movie on DVD would sell big time!!!

VHS : Ninja III: The Domination
Ninja III: The Domination gets five stars from me for the martial arts sequences. Lucinda Dickey does many of her own stunts here, too---some quite impressively. This picture really deserves a DVD release soon.

Sometimes travel books can come across as "looking down" on the locals for their backwards and silly ways. This book shines in quite the opposite direction. Mark Salzman does an admirable job of telling about the challenges of his years in China in the 1980s, when China was still getting used to having Westerners within its borders. He encounters numerous bureaucratic hurdles, faces them with diligence. He meets many smart and wonderful locals and appreciates their talents. He realizes that many things he took for granted - electricity that always came on, a steady supply of food, mail service that delivered on schedule - were not to be assumed here.

The book is very well written. There were numerous parts that I laughed out loud at, and then read it to whoever was sitting near ... Read More

This movie and the DVD series of Seasons one, two and three, from the original T.V. show are a Must See. The lessons learned from them are integrating themselves into my life and creating permanent, positive changes. I heartily recommend everyone watch them, even if you saw the series 30 years ago. The lessons in life, if taken, will positively change your life forever. By the way, David Carradine is fantastic. No one could ever match his performance in such a role.

VHS : Enter the Ninja
The film begins with a very impressive display of weaponry skills by none other than Sho Kosugi in full Ninja uniform, including sai, shinobi-gatana, tonfa, nunchaku, manriki {bola}, blowgun, shiroken, bow & arrow, and spear-staff. Blend into white ninja {color indicative of novice/apprentice} amidst the wilderness undergoing his final "law of the jungle" test until recognized as full Ninja calibre; he is attacked by several red ninjas on his way back to the dojo, expertly defending himself until facing the Shidoshi himself, shockingly beheading him before entering in for judgement {this was a mere test to decipher whether or not he would be able to assassinate someone familiar to him to fulfill a mission, as many times an enemy would employ such illusionary tactics to distract from the task at hand}; ... VHS : Brain Smasher - A Love Story
This is a great movie: call it a cult classic, call it camp, but the fact is that if this movie ever came on TV at 2 A.M. you'd be glued to the screen until it was done. It stars Andrew Dice Clay and is a made-for-HBO semi-low budget action/comedy about a bouncer named Brainsmasher (Clay), a model (Teri Hatcher), her botanist sister and a clan of Chinese martial arts monks terrorizing Portland, Oregon.

In short the plot is that the model's botanist sister sends her this flower that bestows ultimate power if eaten because Chinese monks are after her. Now the Chinese monks (read: ninja-like guys) are after the model, and she runs into a nightclub. A bouncer (Brainsmasher) gets caught up in the fray and ends up joining forces with the model and....weird things happen.

This is one of those "so bad they are good" movies. Not quite as good as the classic "No Retreat No Surrender" (although the style of the movie is very similar), its still good enough to be enjoyed.

Loren Avedon I must say is very unique in all his martial arts films. I can never decide if I really enjoy his presence or despise it. His acting is rather lousy, but to the point its almost fun. He tries to be funny, and it sometimes ends up being so just for trying. As for fighitng, he actually is very athletic in his earlier films, and this is no exception. Loren Avedon plays a cop named Jake, who is assigned to Thailand to investigate the murders involved with film making. When he is put off the case, he insists on going when he learns the man who may be resposible for the deaths is the same ... Read More

Another fabulous film inspired by Sid the Elf. You must check them out if you haven't already!

I've been a Norris Fan for quite some time, yet I haven't seen all of his movies since he's got over 500 in his library. So I've been catching up on my Chia-Chuck lately, hitting the good & the bad. This movie is quite good!

First of all it has a midget in the movie. And it's not your usual dwarf/elf/stunt-double midget. This little bugger is, basically, cause for all the chaos in the film. Midgets need more positive roles like this one in Hollywood. I'm tired of elf movies.

David Carradine plays a bad guy in this movie, and does it well. I'm used to seeing him as Bill from the Tarantino flicks (and vaguely remember him in Kung Fu). So it was nice to get a younger Bill, and more ... Read More

This movie definitely wasn't for me, I like dark movies the most, but like the occasional comedy too. This one wasn't funny enough too keep my interest. The dubbing really ruins this, but it's not quite on the badness level of Twin Warriors. The movie itself is a pretty lighthearted adventure.

If you wanna see Jet in a Jackie Chan role, than this is for you.

Also----------------------my pick for Fong Sai Yuk is Ho Hsoua(Md Monkey Kung fu) His performance in disciples of master Killer really stole the show for me, also it's a much better overall movie, so I would suggest disciples for anyone who like this.
