I remember watching an interview like this is your life years ago with Michael Crawford, and they went through his career of TV, movies and plays etc.. and I kept waiting for them to mention condorman and they never did, and they should, as it's a very underrated movie. I remember seeing this movie when it originally came out in the cinemas - and I came out with a smile on my face. Its one of those silly but really enjoyable teen movies that were so popular in the 1980s (eg Ferris Buller's Day off or Real Genius) that aren't made any more. This is still I think the best Bond parody movie I've seen - given how much else that has come out on DVD over the years I'm still amazed that this isn't available anywhere in the DVD format. If you run across an old tape (and still have a VHS player) its worth popping this in it for a watch. Don't take this serious and you'll enjoy yourself and if you've sat through a lot of genuine James Bond movies over the years then you'll probably really appreciate the riffs in this movie better - and wonder how you'd cope with ... There are several car chases in this film, and they are all great, considering it's a B movie! The dialogue gets lame in between all the action. Count the # of times Corey says " Pop " in this film....could be a good drinking game? Cory Haim brings alot of energy to this film, but he appears to be high on coke! It's a manic, high strung performance. He was made to be in B films, with his good looks and limited range. The high points are a great bridge getaway, a revenge plot with a crazy blonde, and a jail break. The romance/sex scene with Corey and his blonde bombshell is non-existant. Marcia Strassman of Welcome Back Kotter shows up, and brings some stronger acting to the film, which the other actors can't match. ... Read More

Anti-establishment late '70s truckin' fun movie. Great flick with truckin', hot rods and CB radio-speak. A magnificant late '70s American movie. Great cast. Burt is perfect, as is Jackie Gleason as the ultimate redneck sheriff. (Jerry Reed is easy to ignore, but SHINED.) Sally Field shined as well. It's easy to see how Burt and Sally hooked up after this one in real life. The chemistry showed in the movie and helped make it real. Very funny. You need to watch it for what it's worth. They were'nt trying for an Oscar. (Thank goodness.) If you like a simple plot with car-chase action, you will LOVE this movie.

Cool concept, great cast, awesome movie poster...incredibly lame movie. A lot of things could've been forgiven about THE CANNONBALL RUN if the movie had only been funny. But it's not. It's just an astounding waste of talent that ends with the amusing outtakes proving that the people who made the movie had a better time than the people who paid to see the movie. A good friend of mine despised this movie because he said, "It's like watching a party I didn't get invited to." He took it a little too personally but you get the idea. Fat chance she has hanging around her New York City apartment. Perchance her sister Elaine (Mary Ellen Trainor), looking for the other body parts of Elaine's dismembered husband, is kidnapped and ransomed by ruthless people, (Danny DeVito and Zack Norman.) This just happens to be in Columbia. It seems that there are other interested parties that are down right vicious. Will Joan Wilder find the type of romance she writes about or just a snot?
