I have waited years to see this movie again. Of course, it's not as creepy as I remembered it but I still enjoyed it. A must addition to my sci fi collection.

VHS : Abominable Snowman
An expedition searches for the Yeti of Tibet. These creatures, they learn, are far more superior to men. Using their powers of telepathy, the Yeti begin killing the members of the expedition in order to keep their existence a secret.

"The Abominable Snowman" is a perfect blend of science fiction and horror and was created by those who brought us the highly successful Quatermass films. It stars Hammer horror icon Peter Cushing as a botanist and Forrest Tucker (Sergeant O'Rourke from the TV series "F Troop") as a trapper.

Released in 1957, "The Abominable Snowman" was filmed in black and white. Pity it couldn't have been shot in color as were the Hammer horror classics, "Horror of Dracula, "The Mummy," and "The Curse of Frankenstein." However, since the beautiful, ... Read More

VHS : Casino Royale
This is in many ways not a very good movie. You have probably heard about how the movie was an absurd thing to begin with (five directors?) and how it blew up in production, and was pretty much thrown together.

Nonetheless, it's one of my favorite movies ever. I rarely watch a movie more than once, and I'm drawn to watch this from time to time. It's absurd, silly, and serious all at the same time. The first time you see it, your reaction is going to be more "Huh?" than "Wow!" but it sticks with you. A week later you'll laugh at something you remember. A month later, you'll remember something and grin. The next time you see a "serious" Bond movie, you'll think of some twist in it that was done much better in Casino Royale. After you've safely forgotten it, you'll be reminded of it and -have- to ... Read More

VHS : Day the Earth Caught Fire
Excellent movie about an end of the world scenario. Multiple nuclear tests make the earth change its orbit and it is inevitably heading towards the sun. The movie concerns people's reaction to the situation. It's a tense, gripping movie that also features a very sexual performance by Janet Munro. Seeing her at her most beautiful and giving such a strong performance makes one sad that she died so young and led such a tragic life.

Come on, this is a stop motion aficionado's delight. Some of Jim Danforth's effects work is superlative. Warner's, do us all a favour and give this dino epic an official release!

VHS : Quatermass 2
Professor Barnard Quatermass (Brian Donlevy of "Gamera the Invincible") returns in "Quatermass 2," the sequel to Hammer Production's "The Quatermass Xperiment." This classic science fiction horror masterpiece is as excellent, if not superior, as the original. Professor Quatermass appears to have mellowed since we first met him; he displays more compassion towards his fellow man.

Professor Quatermass learns that meteorites of uniform size and shape are falling at regular intervals and landing in a particular site. Upon further investigation, he learns the landing site is near a top secret government facility that contains huge domes. He is told that synthetic food is stored in these domes? Synthetic food for whom . . . or what? The true nature of this facility is being kept a secret by a government conspiracy involving ... Read More

Although I am not a fan of any of the actors involved with this movie I have been spending alot of time trying to find it. I was looking for a telly savalas movie from 1975 called "Diamond Mercenaries" and the reason was that I own a landrover and they destroy many series landrovers in this film. Like I said it was a b-movie although an allstar cast but without the plot to match

Here is a typical little English comedy, of those Sellers did before he was an established international star! The film is enjoyable, has a good hearted humour and was loved by the audience (that's why there was a sequel made, but unfortunately without Sellers). And what a brilliant idea-some navy people in an almost forgotten ship, have turned their ship into a very profitable shop! When some official finally visits them, they have to "disguise" their business and keep it going! One of the funniest versions of corruption! sellers' is great, teamed with other well-known English character actors such as Wilfrid Hyde White and David Tomlinson. Recommended!

VHS : Carry on Admiral
This is probably the first of the carry on series of comedies. It is not listed in many official lists of the carry on films. You will see some of the usual cast. What makes this unique is the superb, nonsexual, British satire of upper class people who get into high positions in the government.
