The TDF in 2003 was a particularly interesting race, and this DVD does a very good job of covering it as much as it can. The DVDs really only cover the last few kilometers of the beginning stages, mostly because the end is the only exciting part in the flat stages. The mountain stages are covered extensively, and all of the memorable moments are there (e.g. a brave solo win in the mountains).

The 2003 Tour de France victory by Lance Armstrong was his most important victory ever and a great month in the history of sports. It was a difficult race for him and his margin of victory was very slim. He had to work, very hard, for this one. And it was the unrelenting courage that he showed in this race that made him equal to the past great cyclists.

The coverage is excellent, clear, and informative. I especially like the replays from different angels of key events, such as crashes. Thus the viewer can clearly see what happened and who was at fault.

This belongs in the collection of every cyclist and any sport enthusiast. The four hours pass quickly.

The video work is great. Phil Liggit's favorite adjective for describing the 1999 riders is "little," as in "the little spaniard," or "that little man." Count how many times he says little. Anyway, both tapes are great fun to watch, but the audio mixing on the 2000 tapes is awful. You can barely hear the commentary beneath the very loud music.

This World Cycling Production is good review of the 2002 tour.
The narration by Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen is professional and the odd spots by Gary Imlach are always fun and informative. Each stage is given own highlight with the major breaks displayed.

The production is less than stellar it views more like an ESPN highlight reel than well though out show. There are numerous picture break-ups and blips caused by broadcast foul-ups. For near $[amount] charged I expect a less slap-dash affair. Another annoyance is the total lack of DVD extras. The 2001 version had few extra highlights from previous Tours at the end, the 2002 version was conspicuously lacking. This a good video but a poor value.

WCP does put out a ten hour multi-DVD set of the 2002 Tour for the total fanatic.

World Cycling Productions does an excellent job of covering the Tour (as always). The digital quality is excellent. This dvd set is perfect for those who missed the Tour on OLN or need something for all the time on the trainer in the winter. I think the coverage is just a bit better than the 2001 Tour. You'll love it!

VHS : 2000 Tour de France
A must video for victory and a testimony for everyone. As everyone knows, Lance has proven his critics wrong in every aspect of his life. Cancer survivor, 1999 winner, and now 2000 winner. A must have for Lance & US cycling fans. Relates to the comeback kid and de-ja-vu of Greg Lemond's courageous comeback.

Video comentary by Phil & Paul are very insightful for pure cycling fans. Coverage and tactics are well done. The video camera brings you in sooooo close that you feel that you are there when Lance rips away from you and you feel that there is nothing you can do except be in awe. They describe a lot of the behind the scene activity that goes on while the riders are performing. Coverage of the key stages for the overall is well done.. especially the climb to Hautacam and the ... Read More
