I'll go out on a limb and give this one a 4 stars. Though it feels like your basic average martial arts flick (and unfortunately, another lame movie taking place in the run-down future), the martial arts cast and amount of fight action make up for it. Though the fights aren't overly impressive, and some of these guys are used to giving a stronger performance, it seems there are fights every 5 minutes throughout the film. And I have seen plenty of worse fights in other films too. If it weren't for the action and cast, this movie would flop.

Billy Blanks. Jala Mehri. Bobbie Phillips. Matthias Hues. Bolo Yeung. All 5 star in this film, and all 5 are impressive martial artists. While the first 2 guys I mentioned (Blanks and Mehri) are not the most popular among fans, and ... Read More

To the makers of "Xena" - what were you thinking when you made this season? After seeing Seasons one and two of "Xena", I considered this show to be one of my favourites of all time, if not my very favourite. Season three was still excellent, although I thought the writers mishandled the whole storyline involving Hope. However, in Season four, the writers manage to make pretty much every mistake imaginable and the series jumps the shark.

The main theme of season four of "Xena" is Gabrielle's spiritual journey. Following her experiences with her evil daughter, Hope, Gabrielle feels drawn to the path of peace, which ultimately leads her and Xena to India in search of some sort of spiritual guidance (which appears in the form of Eli, "Xena"'s answer to Jesus), and results in Gabrielle laying ... I enjoyed the movie-length presentation of Young Hercules. It's great to see the beginnings of the relationship between Hercules and Iolaus and Jason. A great deal for any Hercules fan.

This is an excellent, overlooked thriller - with well-acted menace.

Black Top is one of those relatively low-budget, quick-production suspense movies that relies on casting an acclaimed actor or celebrity from another field in the central role of psychopath - and then lets the action revolve around his depredations. In this case, Meatloaf fills the bill to grippingly good effect.

We've all heard a man and woman start to argue, maybe as they're coming out of a tavern, half-sloshed. And while they may have been chummy enough in the tavern, out on the street, things turn ugly. The man starts slinging foul language, using the B... word, accusing the woman of being a slut. If you carry that common script farther into rage and irrationality - you get the stuff of a lot of thriller movies. And ... Read More

Action!
I don't know if this is meant to be a serious movie, but if you need a good laugh, go for it. It's got action, a botched up love story, and some good old fashioned goof balls. Nick Lea and Ivan Sergei were a blast hanging off a chandelier. The Director (Dale) is a hoot in a S&M suit! (hey that rhymed!) The only bore was Sandrine Holt. I'm just waiting for the TV series to come out on DVD, now that was good television! (And the theme song was pretty good too).
