VHS : Friday the 13th 1
Authenticity, creativity, style, and a spine-chilling sensation are some of the most compelling characteristics that make for a truly impressive horror film. Unfortunately, "Friday the 13th" does not even remotely approach those characteristics. This movie is an absolute atrocity that suffers from a variety of unforgivable flaws.

The opening scene takes place in the year 1958 at a summer campsite where a group of teenage camp counselors are enjoying a nice, quiet evening by the campfire. Two of the counselors are brutally murdered by an unknown character after attempting to slip away and make love. Following this incident, the movie fast forwards to the present. The current owner of the campsite, Steve Christy (Peter Brouwer), decides to revive the campsite for the summer with ... Read More

I saw this one in the theater back in the day(my most vivid memory is that I really had to pee and I was happy when the film ended so I could dart off to the restroom). I wasn't crazy about it then, and I'm still not today. It's a pity coz the right ingredients are here. You got an underwater crew menaced by a prehistoric beasty(on an adequate budget) directed by Sean Cunningham. Sounds like fun, right?
Well, for a monster movie, there is a surprising lack of monster action. Most of the film it seems like endless scenes of folks sitting in cockpits/control rooms, water bursting from walls, people bickering, people shouting stuff like, "Close the hatches!", and endlessly repairing damage(or attempting to). When the monster shows up, you're already kinda tired of the whole thing. It doesn't ... Read More

VHS : New Kids on the Block - Kissed, Missed
I can't believe I bought a cheap VHS of this movie only to find out they now have it on DVD. I'm buying it anyway.

I think the acting is fantastic and the thrills will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's also fun to see James Spader, Eric Stoltz and Lori Laughlin in their younger years! I find Shannon Presby hot now that I'm older.

This movie always makes me want to work! I can't imagine why! The song "Stand Up" is awesome (wish I had it on CD). But the transitional music between the scenes is bad - though appropriate for 1985 when the movie was made.

It's a must see!

I was working when this Movie was being filmed and I saw first hand the Drama and Crime as they went "deep" into the tunnels of Grand Central Terminals and the areas not really known to the public. This Movie is about a murder in Long Island and a witness to this murder who places the blame on the wrong person. The husband of the victim works for a News Magazine and years later as they are going to execute the wrong man another News company, T.V. Division reporter who also is dating the widowed Newsman decides that she wants to look at the angle of the murder and try to prove that he is not the one. Action Movie and a little mystery involved as who reall is involved. Great Cast Kate Mulgrew T.V. News cast Reporter and Rip Torn as the real murderer
