VHS : John & Yoko: Love Story
i loved this movie- have already watched it twice. i have seen other actors "portray" john, but this actor seems to me to have done one of the best, if not the best, portraits of john. the actor is very good at conveying many emotions, seemingly very much like we would think john may have reacted. mannerisms are amazing, but the acting depth really makes this a cut above the made-for -t.v. movie that it is.

the detail is spot on, for fans who are familiar with the scenes, clothing, etc. of the time periods depicted. at times the tableau is right out of a photograph, recreated. amazing. john and yoko's music is used in various ways all through the movie, to great effect. the heartbreaking ending is mostly left to our imaginations and our pained recollections of that night.... ... VHS : Pin
I first saw this film way back in the 80's on video. Then as now it stands as one of the hidden horror masterpieces from it's age. A very unusual story about a brother and sister raised in upper society under a hard handed mother and distant town doctor father, who has a plastic life size anatomy dummy in his office. the father is a ventriloquist as well, and uses the dummy (named pin) to teach his children about life and sex. The boy sees a nurse having sex with the dummy one day in the office. The two children grow..and as the sister seems to be normal..the boy seems a bit odd with the opposite sex. The parents die in a car crash after the father catches him talking as a teenager to the dummy. Then pin gets to come home. This is basically a movie about sexual obsession. The brother lusting after his sister..and ... Read More

Co-writer/director Sandor Stern's sci-fi thriller has a great Michael Crichton-ish/Body Snatchers idea that is underdeveloped. Gregory Harrison and Kim Greist are parents of a missing boy who stumble across the Sandburg Research Institute where doctors Kevin McCarthy and Cicely Tyson are experimenting with memory transfer. The Institute's objective is to remove the criminal mind and replace it with a less-alienated healthier one, and McCarthy and Tyson have been using the bodies of derelicts and replacing their memories with those dying in hospitals. This doesn't explain how the missing boy has ended up in the Institute's community of new-memoried zombie-bodies, but McCarthy's bad haircut and the standover tactics of Lane Smith as the head of the Institute with undefined government connections and an assasin agenda, ... VHS : Jericho Fever
"Jericho Fever", which first aired on the USA network in December 1993, stars Stephanie Zimbalist in one of her last best TV-movie roles as a CDC doctor dispatched to New Mexico to thwart a new strain of hemmoraghic fever. The plot (at least so far as it concerns Zimbalist) is plausible, sensible, and without frills. In many ways it resembles Elia Kazan's 1950 film "Panic In The Streets" -- there are no suspenseful mass evacuations of the public or gory death scenes, just a doctor and a detective with little time to find the one individual who is immune to the disease (a criminal, of course).

Zimbalist fans will enjoy the cool, self confident performance the actress gives -- most are so inaccessible these days.

Other than the fact that Colleen's family sold her story and then would not let her name be used, this is a good film about a lost girl looking for love and acceptance not found at home. Almost a perfect copy of Frontline's "Death of a Porn Queen"

Randy Travis does a really great job in this heartwarming episode. Be prepared for tears. It's about a man (randy travis) who's wife falls off a horse. He has to decide whether to give her heart to a dying 15 year old heart patient. A Christmas Miracle is equally good. No TBAA fan will be disappointed.
