VHS : Man From Uncle 1: Project Strigas & Never
UNCLE was a fondly remembered show - not always even, but pretty fun. Now this collection has great episodes and is the ultimate mind-warp for 60's TV fans. In short: Capt. Kirk vs. Spock and Col. Klink - then - Napoleon shoots the Joker and saves Agent 99! What more do you need?

VHS : The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Volume 18: The Green Opal Affair & The Dove Affair (UNCLE)
"The Green Opal Affair" and "The Dove Affair" are both 1st season episodes. Not one of my favorite episodes.

Episode 6 "The Green Opal Affair": UNCLE gets a new recruit when suddenly, he goes out of control. Before he drops into unconsciousness, he says Green Opal and the name Walter Brach (Carroll O'Connor). They find out that Walter Brach is an eccentric man who yearly visits an area called the Green Opal. No one knows why he goes there. Napoleon on orders goes to investigate, going undercover by being hired as a temporary secretary to Brach. When the arrive at Green Opal, he joins up with Chris Linnel (Joan O'Brien), a woman who is kidnapped by Brach's men. They are both captured and we find out that Brach is really a THRUSH agent. VHS : Man From U.N.C.L.E. - Vol. 4, The Galatea Affair/The Come With Me to the Casbah Affair
The movie-length episodes on this one are great, so much so I had one imported to my house in England (cause you can't get U.N.C.L.E stuff over here). Watch out though, one of the episodes was turned into a TV movie and is often shown on TNT...

VHS : The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Volume 11: The Hot Number Affair / The Suburbia Affair (UNCLE)
There are 2 Episodes on this tape and one has Sonny & Cher. It is called "The Hot Number Affair" Episode and truly wonderful:

It shows Cher true-to-life, showing her initial interest in designing, right when her career in music had just begun to take off. And Sonny, WAY against character, is playing a tailor who is NOT married to her, but he is able to bank his jealousy.

In a way that makes for quite an interesting and comedic plot, with physics secrets, relating to Cold War with Russia of the 60's, undertones woven into a unusually styled, dress.

This is a definite must for people who are in love with the remarkable TONE of the voice of Cher, as a young star, with their song playing a bit in the background, but tastefully. I like anything with young Sonny ... Read More

VHS : The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Volume 17: The Quadripartite Affair / The Giuoco Piano Affair (UNCLE)
Volume 17 has episodes "The Quadripartite Affair" and "The Giuoco Piano Affair", both which appeared on Man from UNCLE's first season and are one of the first episodes. The Man from UNCLE series is one of my favorite TV series ever to watch! The main characters are Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn, "Bullit" and "The Magnificent Seven") and my favorite the enigmatic and quiet Russian, Illya Kuryakin played to perfection by actor David McCallum (another great movie with him is "The Great Escape").

EPISODE 3 "THE QUADRIPARTITE AFFAIR": In Yugoslavia, Marion Raven's (Jill Ireland) father is killed because of his discovery of a plot to overthrow governments with the use of a fear gas. Gervaise Ravel (Anne Francis) and Harold Buffington (John Van Dreelen) are behind the plot and have Marion to be watched. ... Read More

VHS : Man from U.N.C.L.E., Volume 9: The Foxes and Hounds Affair / The Discotheque Affair (UNCLE)
"The Foxes and Hounds Affair" and "The Discotheque Affair" are what I think are UNCLE's 2nd season best, besides "The Deadly Toys Affair", "The Dippy Blonde Affair", and "The Minus X Affair".

Episode 33 "The Foxes and Hounds Affair": Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum) tries to obtain a thought-reading device from a magician but when they do, he and his companion are separated while Victor Marton (Vincent Price) and his THRUSH thugs are chasing them in Europe. Illya gets back to New York safely but his companion, who has the device tries to come back to New York through another route. Alexander Waverly (Leo G. Carroll) sends Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) out as a decoy for Marton and his THRUSH rival Lucia Belmont (Patricia Medina), without Napoleon having a clue of what's going on! Mimi Doolittle (Julie ... Read More

VHS : The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Volume 21: The Very Important Zombie Affair / The Dippy Blonde Affair (UNCLE)
The Dippy Blonde has more brains than our uncles. The story about a zombie is so silly El Supremo's pet chimp is the smartest of everyone. Look over once then toss!

VHS : The Movie Maker
Apparently most or all the sellers of this "Movie Maker" are actually offering the 1987 version, a comedy starring Zsa Zsa Gabor & David Hedison, directed by Jim Wilson. When I asked several of the sellers to check, they discovered they DO NOT in fact have what Amazon indicates they have, after all! I.e., the sellers DO NOT have the 1964 version of "Movie Maker," a serious drama with Dabney Coleman & Rod Steiger, directed by Joseph Lejtes! -- Prof Steven P Hill, Cinema Studies, University of Illinois.
