VHS : Quantum Leap - The Pilot Episode
Seriously Quantum Leap was the best show ever produced. I own all of the seasons on dvd. I never really thought of myself as a groupie but for this show I would be. Scott Bakula is just an amazing actor. I only wish they would do a final movie allowing him to actually leap home. Dean Stockwell does such a great job as his best friend that everyone should have someone like him. It may only be a show but sometimes the history references were funny as all get out and would make you think that they could have been true. Like the one with Buddy he was trying to sing a song to the pig and was singing "piggy suey" and of course Sam says to Buddy "Why don't you try Peggy Sue?" You truly need to watch this show from beginning to end.

VHS : Lightning Incident
Intense and dramatic, Nancy McKeon does a fantastic job of portraying a woman whose baby is kidnapped, and she discovers she has psychic abilities which she uses to get her child back. Sometimes looking alot more like a theatrical release than a TV movie, THE LIGHTNING INCIDENT is one not to be missed. Great performances, a touching script, beautiful production design and direction, as well as an eerie music score help to make this movie all it is: one of the few TV movies we can call great.

VHS : Quantum Leap: Leap Home
While I've certainly not seen every television show ever made, I've seen quite a bit. I'm not a huge QL fan, but I don't know if I've ever seen anything this good. Not perfect, but I still tear up a little thinking about the ending. Try to see parts 1 and 2 consecutively if you can.
You must see the whole thing in order to truly 'get it.' This 2-part show would be very good without the ending, very moving with it.

VHS : Beauty and the Beast - Episode 8: Song of Orpheus
This was a very necessary episode, as it helped to explain Father's motivations for creating the underworld city, and his distrust, and fear of those living above. His tragic, though heroic past also allowed the viewer to appreciate the strength, and humanity in him, and, in turn, made it easy to understand how Vincent attained such integrity, and nobility.

The closing conversation between Catherine, and Vincent also became important to me, personally, in retrospect ( particularly after viewing THOU LOVERS BE LOST ). Catherine is sad about the fact that Father, and the love of his life had such a short time left when they reunited, but Vincent looks directly at her, and stresses that they had 'seven days.'

VHS : Beauty and the Beast: Though Lovers Be Lost
Isn't it written in the stars somewhere that all truly great romances must end in death? When I first saw this episode on television I was torn up by its power, but quite devastated, having realized that a series I still consider to be the best television has ever produced, was going to end. Catherine, and Vincent were a perfect whole, and one without the other, simply put, was like a body devoid of its soul. Though there would be several other powerful episodes in the abbreviated final season, they all had a dirge-like quality to them.

If there is one consolation here it may just be that the love between Vincent, and Catherine continues to endure, in all its poetic magnificence, and the sheer beauty, and rhapsodic poignancy of this love continues to enthrall, and inspire.

VHS : Past the Bleachers
I thought the movie was very good and touching. Richard Dean Anderson did a wonderful job, as always. The only problem I found with the story was that it didn't get detailed enough. The character had a couple of major events happening in his life and they just skimmed over them. The movie ends and you never find out how the big events turned out. Good story, good acting, and worth watching, it just has a couple of holes.

VHS : Behind Palace Doors
As the story opens, we see Prince Andrew having fun, fun, fun as a royal playboy while commoner Sarah Ferguson parties it up with her crowd. They meet and fall in love, promising to never change. Once they're married, however, reality sets in; the two have nothing in common and Fergie's low-class cavorting proves to be an insurmountable embarrassment.

The two leads look something like Andrew and Sarah, but the rest of the cast look nothing like their famous counterparts. This is a low-budget movie that barely skims the main events - they meet, marry, have kids, separate - but it offers no character development or details "behind palace doors." It's mostly about the dour palace staffers who disapproved of Sarah from the start. This is an unsympathetic story that makes her out to be a loud ... Read More

This is one show I truely enjoyed, even my brother liked it. However, you REALLY need to put it on DVD. Think about it as alot of us who don't like or own VHS tapes would buy it in a snap on DVD.
