I enjoy watching Gangster movies and this one was good in comparison to watching Gotti(HBO)Movie

Oh how I wish this was available on DVD and - even better - remastered.

I was looking for a DVD version because my VHS copy is tired. I bought it used many years ago and I rarely play it because I'm afraid it will go the way of all my other VHS tapes - munched by the player, or just worn out.

I've nothing to add to the other reviews, really. My only previous exposure to the Threepenny Opera had been through performances of the music completely out of context and I was thrilled when I recognized the songs in the movie. But if you get a chance to view this, please do.

It really is marvelously entertaining.

VHS : Enter the Ninja
The film begins with a very impressive display of weaponry skills by none other than Sho Kosugi in full Ninja uniform, including sai, shinobi-gatana, tonfa, nunchaku, manriki {bola}, blowgun, shiroken, bow & arrow, and spear-staff. Blend into white ninja {color indicative of novice/apprentice} amidst the wilderness undergoing his final "law of the jungle" test until recognized as full Ninja calibre; he is attacked by several red ninjas on his way back to the dojo, expertly defending himself until facing the Shidoshi himself, shockingly beheading him before entering in for judgement {this was a mere test to decipher whether or not he would be able to assassinate someone familiar to him to fulfill a mission, as many times an enemy would employ such illusionary tactics to distract from the task at hand}; ... I never saw this when it first came out, & it is perhaps more timely now than 20 years ago............

If you like this genre at all, you may as well get the best. At times, it is hard to watch & you want to look away, but unfortunately, that is the reality of what we live through.

In this day & age, even if it is fanciful, it is good to know that these people are on our side!

Chuck Norris at his best, bravo!

VHS : Hanna's War
I watched this movie soon after it came out on VHS. This is one of only a handful of movies that has had a life long impact on me. I was sobbing at the end of the movie. It believe it is important for all of us to hear the stories of those who have given up everything for freedom. The story of Hanna and all that she endured is very moving and a reminder to be grateful for all that we have.

VHS : Over the Brooklyn Bridge (Amazon.com Exclusive)
This is a brilliant, very Jewish, very New Yorkish, comedy that should have been more widely admired than it was. It is now hard to find. Like Elliott Gould's earlier black comedy masterpiece Little Murders, Over the Brooklyn Bridge has marvelous acting, an often hilarious script, and deep insight into the worst and best parts of human nature. The engagement party dinner near the movie's close is unforgettable. Sid Caesar should have won an academy award for it. Shelly Winters and Carol Kane are fantastic throughout. Hemingway? Well, she won't be everyone's cup of tea. In any case, don't this splendid movie. Especially if you're from New York. Woody Allen should be so funny!

I read the book after seeing the film.I liked them both a lot,but the film has a somewhat different ending, which I especially liked. This is the only Isaac Bashevis Singer book I've read, and the film did it justice, except I have a feeling the ending might offend his literary fans. It could be said that it wrapped up the story in a way quite uncharacteristic of the author. My guess only.

I will wait for it to come out on DVD.

VHS : Deadly Heroes

Deadly Heroes. You're probably thinking a movie starring Jan-Michael Vincent, Michael Pare and some no-name actors isn't worth watching. It would be a huge mistake to pass this movie up! With the master of low-budget action Menahem Golan directing you are in for a treat! His films are so bad they're just plain good. Twenty years after the Delta Force hit screens he proves he's still got the imagination and creativity to make the most absurd ideas work onscreen. I only wish Catwoman and Spider-Man 2 were this much fun to watch.
