VHS : Songcatcher
This was one of the best movies Ive seen in a while. It was clean and fun. This movie depicted some of our American heritage showing where some of our music originated and how it was preserved over time. It was a delightful and entertaining movie. I liked the movie so much that I bought movie and the soundtrack. If you a lover of music at all this is a movie not only worth watching but also worth owning.

VHS : Ballad of Little Joe
Nothing positive can be said about the film "The Ballad of Little Jo", ranging from the lack of character development, to the pathetic attempt for a score, all the way to the shambled efforts to question sexual preference during the settlement era - this film coughed, wheezed, and ached from start to finish. As an audience participant attempting to follow the rampant misuse of A to B to C connective following, I have to merely shake my head and cower in fear. "The Ballad of Little Jo" tried, perhaps too energetically, to tell the story of a woman scored by the world and her attempts to live haphazardly in a male dominated society. As the trailer concludes, the only roles for women during this period were wives or sexual fiends, and well, as you may have already guessed - Little Jo wanted to ... Read More

This film was a key element of the "Jim Thompson revival" of the late Eighties and Nineties, following the reissue of Thompson's novels and just preceding the great film version of The Grifters. Unfortuantely, most of the novel has vanished in the transition to the screeen. Thompson's great strengths were his ironic plots and pyrotechnic language: Greenwald's movie eliminates about half of the twelve intertwined plots that run through the book and contains very little dialogue. All the viewer is left with is a bleak and cynical tale of violence that smacks of daytime television.

VHS : Get a Clue!
Lindsay Lohan is a very good actress. Not many think of her in that light. We tend to see her as another teen trouble maker in/out of rehab. She truly knows her craft & I respect her for that.

I live in the middle of many movie studios (Cali) so my cable has a ridiculous number of channels. We have 3 PBS channels. The nice part is that I get to see movies quicker than others.

This movie was light and cute but definitely geared towards a young crowd. I would buy this movie if I had kids from 10 - 13. Maybe even a bit younger. Since it's a detective movie preteens would be able to keep up with the clues.

I've seen all her movies. My favorite hands down is "Georgia Rule". Georgia Rule (Widescreen Edition)

Directed by Garry Marshall you can never go wrong. ... Read More
