This movie took me 10 years to find. I sawit as a teenager and loved it. This story makes you feel happy, sad and full of hope that if you haven't found love you will. No matter what and how much time, love see's through it all. The actors in this movie make you feel what they feel. You understand what both are going through and how much love they have for one another. It's a tear-jerker for sure!

I found this to be in excellent condition but found it better shown on older, smaller TV monitors than on the digital screen of the new 42 inch slim line. The slim line distorted and darkened the scenes more. Jane Seymour did a captivating portrayal of Mary Yellen with more time to develope the character in a TV series than Maureen O'Hara had in an ealier movie version done in black & white with Charles Laughton. I was especially interested in seeing authoress' Daphne du Maurier's Bodmin Moor brought to the screen as she described it in the original book Jamaica Inn. The moor was as essential to character development as the acting itself.

An attempt is made to transfer too large a segment of Jack Higgins' espionage novel to film in this tale of former IRA comrades who find themselves upon opposing sides during a royalty-targeted assassination plan, since the lengthy book is replete with sub-plots, and with a wide range of characters who need cinematic development in order to engage a viewer's concern. One's first impression is that nearly every role is miscast and although some certainly are, it quickly becomes apparent that weak direction by Lawrence Gordon-Clark gives little hope to the players as to what their interpretations might be; a good amount of intensity by the cast seems wasted in scenes that lack signification. Rob Lowe as an IRA hitman should probably have been able to collect some type of Irish lilt during his life, and it is ironic ... Read More

What if there existed a document that could dismiss the transfer of Hong Kong from Brits to China? Rob Lowe plays Sean Dillon, a spy trying to gain evidence of that secret on behalf of Britain. But, as he engages his assignment, he is caught off-guard by a beautiful distraction, Deborah Moore. Good flick for Rob Lowe. No James Bond, though.
